GUIDE: Pandora Universal Unbricker DC-3 + MS Multi IPL Loader
Dark_Alex Despertar Cementerio 3 + Booster's MS Multi IPL Loader (Using Pandora 3.XX Installer by Hellcat)

NOTE: Creating a Pandora with the Guide requires 3.71 M33, you CANNOT use a firmware higher than this to create the battery using this guide due to changes Sony made in the firmware. If you have a firmware higher than 3.71 M33 either downgrade to make the battery or search on how to make a Pandora battery on those firmwares. If I have time I will update the guide, but for now 3.71 M33 is your best bet to create it.

This guide will create the Universal Unbricker using a FAT PSP with 3.XX custom firmware or PSP SLIM with 3.XX custom firmware (It has been verified that the "OS Pandora Battery Tool 0.3" application used in this guide will convert a SLIM Battery to a Pandora Battery and recover it back to normal).

This will unbrick/upgrade a Fat/Slim PSP to firmware 3.71 Official or 3.71 M33-2, whichever you choose.

Optional 3.71 M33-4 and 1.50 ADD ON-2 (for FAT PSP Only) and Booster's MS Multi IPL Loader can be installed also.

REQUIREMENTS:
FAT PSP with 3.XX custom firmware or PSP SLIM with 3.XX custom firmware (Convert the SLIM battery to a Pandora Battery at your own risk).

Download files: HERE

(If you are running a Custom XMB or PTF theme on your CFW PSP it is recommended to replace your backup flash0 or select original Theme in Theme settings to avoid a semi-brick after the unbricking or upgrading is done).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Follow the steps below to create the Universal Unbricker/Upgrader Memory Stick:

1) Insert memory Stick and format via System Settings (Recommend any above 64MB and below 1GB).

2) Connect PSP to PC via USB (Or place Memory Stick in card reader).

3) Extract the downloaded file. Then drag all the files/folders inside the UniversalFiles folder to the root of the Memory Stick (The ROOT is the main directory of the PSP Memory Stick. It has the ISO/MP_ROOT/PSP/ETC.ETC. folders there)

If it asks to overwrite choose "YES TO ALL"

4) Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run Pandora Installer for 3.XX (by HELLCAT).

5) At the Installer Menu press "X to install 1.50 firmware, containing Pandora, to the memory stick"

You will get the following...

Reading and checking ms0:/UPDATE.PBP
Installing firmware to memorystick
Hang on, this will take a while, (this doesn't actually take to long)
Installing additional files

OK, if all went well we now have Pandora on the stick.
Don't forget to run msipl installer if needed!

Press Triangle to quit....
....or L + X to install msipl.bin to the memorystick.

6) At this time press L trigger + X to install msipl.bin to the memory stick. The msipl will be installed and the PSP will exit to the XMB.

7) Go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run "Despertar del Cementero" Let it do its magic and it will auto-reset to XMB when its finished.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We will now convert the Battery to a Pandora Battery:

PANDORA 3.XX Installer does not backup the Battery EEPROM. So if you use the application to convert the Battery back to normal it will generate a fake serial # for the Battery and could cause issues. So I have added "OS Pandora Battery Tool 0.3" for those that want to backup their EEPROM and convert the battery back to normal.

UPDATE: This application (OS Pandora Battery Tool 0.3) has been verified to work on SLIM batteries. use at your own risk.

NOTE: You cannot use the new 3600mAh batteries to create a Pandora battery. Also any Chinese knockoffs (batteries that look like Sonys but have Chinese writing on the back) typically do not work either and will give you errors.

1) Go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run OS Pandora Battery Tool 0.3 application.

2) The first screen is a WARNING SCREEN: Just press X to continue or O if ya wimp out.

3) Lets Backup your battery eeprom incase you want to convert the battery back to a normal one. Press down on the D-Pad to "Backup battery eeprom to ms0:/eeprom.bin" then press X. After it has finished writing the eeprom.bin dump press X to continue.

4) Now Press down on D-Pad to "Convert to service mode" and press X. After it has been converted press X to continue.

5) Now Press X at "Quit Now" to return to PSP XMB and then turn off your PSP.

You are now Finished making the Universal Unbricker/Upgrader

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TO USE: Place the Magic Memory Stick then the Pandora Battery into the PSP you want to unbrick/upgrade.

X will install 3.71 M33-2
O will install 3.71 Official Firmware
I recommend not using the other 2 options unless you know what you are doing with those options.

After the 3.71 M33-2 install you can install the 3.71 M33-4 update and 1.50 ADD ON-2 (for FAT PSP Only) via Game Menu Memory Stick.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You now have 3 options after doing the unbrick/upgrade:

1) Keep the Pandora battery and Magic memory Stick as is.

2) Convert the Pandora Battery back to normal…

Take the Pandora Battery out of the PSP. Plug the PSP into the AC Adapter and turn the PSP on letting it boot to XMB. Now place the Pandora Battery into the PSP. Go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run OS Pandora Battery Tool 0.3 application.

Press down on the D-Pad to "Flash only serial from ms0:/eeprom.bin" (It is recommended and supposedly safer to use this option instead of flashing the full EEPROM back to the battery). After it has recovered the battery to normal Quit the application and turn off the PSP. Take out the Battery and unplug the AC Adapter.

Now place the battery back in and you should have successfully converted your battery back to normal.

WARNING: Using the option 3 method seems to interfere with the sleep mode. You will get a hard reset after waking the PSP both when XMB is placed into sleep mode and when a GAME/HOMEBREW is placed into sleep mode. If you use Sleep Mode I suggest using Option 1 or 2.

3) Install Booster's MS Multi IPL Loader which will let you use your Pandora Battery as a normal battery booting to XMB on power up. Read Below.

---------------------------------------------------------

How to install Booster's MS Multi IPL Loader if needed:
The steps below will need to be run on all Memory Sticks you use including the Magic Memory Stick.

1) Place the Memory Stick into the PSP (Without the Pandora Battery) and plug the PSP into the AC Adapter and turn the PSP on letting it boot to XMB.

2)When it boots up enable the USB and drag the ipl folder (located inside the Booster's MS Multi IPL Loader folder) to the ROOT of the Memory Stick.

3) Now disable the USB then go to the Booster's MS Multi IPL Loader\PSP_MS_MULTI_LOADER directory on the PC and execute the "install_psp_ms_multi_loader_ipl.cmd" file. This will bring up a DOS Prompt window.

4) Now enable the USB again and the DOS window will detect the USB connection. It will write a bunch of information similar to the above image. Type Y at [Y] and then any key to close the DOS window.

5) Now turn off the PSP then insert your Pandora Battery and it will automatically boot to XMB. You can now turn the PSP off/on like a normal battery using your Pandora Battery.

6) To boot to Pandora Menu place the Magic Memory Stick in the PSP you want to unbrick/upgrade and then hold L Trigger down while inserting the Pandora Battery.

You do need msipl.bin written for it to work correctly. Not sure why youre having problems with it though. What kind of memory sticks do you have?
