Hey guys....I have a Sharp Aquos 46" LCD TV and I want to buy a an HD Player

Do you guys Think HD-DVD is Better then Blu-Ray? and Why?

I was also thinking about getting a PS3, install Linux on it, get a wireless mouse/keyboard and use the PS3 as my Blu-Ray Player and As a Computer to browse the internet on the TV. And sometimes play some games..

Would you guys think thats a good idea or would you rather get a Blu-Ray Player....Which would you buy..and why?

I would go with blu-ray. And the ps3 is the cheapest blu-ray player you can buy and actually probably one of the best quality pictures ones at that. And it has the ability of firmware updates to improve features.

As for linux, its not bad but a computer is still faster with the internet than the ps3 is or any console/ non computer system for that fact.

Ok also I just want to know if there is anything different if I were to buy the 40GB or 60GB or 80GB PS3.....Any upgrades or Anything? Or is it just the Hard Drive Space thats Different.

i have both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray and i like movies on the blu-ray better. The Cheapest Blu-Ray player is 399.99 and the 40gb PS3 is 399.99 so i see no reason to buy a stand alone blu-ray player. as for the different sizes of the ps3 the 40gb can not play ps2 games, the 60gb has the emotion engine that the ps2 had in it and the 80gb has an emulator in it.

Exactly what he said.

40gb = no ps2 support, no flash card reader (memory cards like your psp memory card)
60gb = emotion engine, best ps2 support
80gb = same as 60gb but with ps2 emulation instead of chip, lesser ps2 support

60gb = best biggrin.gif

hmmmm thats a hard question. I think you should get a blue-ray player cause thats better the hd-dvd as far as I know. So you probably would wanna get the ps3 for that cause thats probably the cheapest your gunna find...or atleast one of the cheapest and then you get 2 in 1 so thats what I would do. And for a computer I would suggest building your own. That way you can get exactly what you want and pretty much for the price you want. Thats what I am gunna do in a few months. I can picture it now.....both my beautiful 20inch monitors and my awesome computer!! Neway....ya thats what I think you should do....Hope this helped!
