Hi all,

I've been away from the scene for a few months and have fallen behind. I have an original psp with custom firmware 3.40 oe-a. I see new firmwares available and was wondering if I should upgrade, and if so, to what? Any help is appreciated. thanks.

I just recently upgraded to 3.40OE-a from 3.03OE-a, for the hi-res movies capability. But since I only use my PSP for movies and games, and no other features, this works fine for me.

the best and most stable firmwares for fat psps would have to be 3.52 M33-4... just kicks ass smile.gif

ya, 3.52m33-4 is the best for fat psp's. Ive heard all the 3.71m33+'s have issues, so 3.52m33-4 would be your best option. If your not sure on how to upgarde, please PM me and i will help.

I upgraded to 3.71 m33-3. We'll see how it goes. No issues so far. Thanks for all the info.

If you don't have any problems with 3.52 M33, you probably don't need to upgrade.
But the benefits up upgrading to 3.71 M33-3 are:
- Support for PSP games that require up 3.71, and most if not all of the features of 3.71 firmware
- Support for more PS1 games, and all the PS1 games every supported via the PopsLoader plugin
- Better support for future homebrew based on the 3.7X kernel
There's probably more but that's all I can think of at the moment.

i was not around for 3.52 but i been useing 3.71-3 for a while and i love it listening to music while looking at picture(aka manga) is nice and that i dont have to use a shell to do it in is even better.
