Hey, I just ordered a pandora battery of ebay yesterday and it should be coming tomorrow. Ive just been checking out all the homebrew apps and it completely blew me away, I cant believe I havent done this sooner, Ive had my psp for almost 2 years! huh.gif and never really thought about it. My question is, Does 3.71 M33-2 run EVERYTHING from all of the previous custom firmwares. For example I was looking at psx roms and custom themes and most of these say 3.03 OE-A, so will 3.71 M33-2 run all of the OE-A stuff? Really need to know and would really appreciate some help!

Thanks

well 3.71 M33-2 will run everything previous stuff will run except themes... but there are themes made for 3.72 M33-2 so dont worry. now I hope you realize that the pandoras battery isnt the only thing you'll need to downgrade your psp.. pandoras battery is useless without the "magic mem stick". and if you have a fat psp I reccomend you upgrade to 3.52 M33 as opposed to 3.71 M33

Yeah I have a magic memory stick too. Why do you recommend 3.52 M33 as apposed to 3.71 M33, I though the 3.71 version was more stable and fixed bugs on the previous versions, maybe I'm missing something?

Yeah, I suggest 3.52 M33 as well, the problem with 3.71 M33 is it's just too unstable, and has a risk of causing unreversable bricks (only if you flash through USB though). As well Sony doesn't require you to update anymore, and even if they still did want you to update (which they don't), no games even require 3.52+ yet. Also there is a slew more themes, and customization options for 3.52 M33 vs 3.71 M33. Overall 3.71 is still just too rocky to be used just yet. But in the end the choice is yours.

oh, okay thanks for the info! I havent actually got the pandoras battery yet, it should be coming tomorrow morning. It says that will install 3.71 M33 with 1.5 Kernel straight away, when it does will I be able to downgrade to 3.52 M33 safely?

Edit: I've just been checking out the 3.71 M33-3 update, and it says: "Fixed a bug in access to flash by usb". Is that what you were talking about? If so, is this version now stable? Sorry about all the Q's, I'm a total newb.

I know 3.71 M33-3 fixes the usb fix, but the FW still seems quite crappy. I can help you PM me when you get the Pandora.

You should be able to, at the most you'll have to go via 1.50.

I've been using 3.71 M33-2 without any problems. So I would go for 3.71 M33-3 to be up to date.
But 3.52 M33-4 has the advantage of being made for 'Phat' PSPs only so it has native 1.50 homebrew support.
It's up to you really.
