Capcom recently announced that Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, is in development for the Playstation 3 system and is scheduled to hit store shelves in early 2008.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition for the PS3 will be released with a host of new features not previously available in Xbox 360 console version. These new editions include 16 multiplayer maps and additional playable characters each with their own unique set of abilities.

The Playstation 3 version of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition will include the following features:

• Frenetic action - Lost Planet is a fast-paced third-person shooter with all the depth, intrigue and intensity of a science fiction classic.

• Connect to gamers around the world via Playstation Network and participate in a variety of cooperative and versus battles with up to 16 players:
o Elimination - It’s every snow pirate for themselves in this death match mode where the victorious are rewarded for the most points earned.
o Team Elimination – You’re only as good as your teammates so strategy and cooperation is key in eliminating the opposing side.
o Post Grab - Teams are tasked with capturing and holding as many Posts as possible.
o Fugitive - One player is assigned as the “Fugitive”, and he or she will earn points for various actions (staying alive, killing enemies, capturing Posts). Dying deducts points and winning is determined when a maximum total is reached or when the score ticks down to zero.

• Foot and Vital Suit based gameplay – Command highly powered VS and weapons not only to help players traverse the treacherous terrain, but to eliminate enemies that lie ahead. Strategically switch between VS and on foot gameplay to best face each situation and challenge.

• Vast environments - Snowstorms, arctic winds, towering buildings and mountains of ice are all stunningly realized as battles occur above and below ground, creating a truly immersive and cinematic event of epic proportions

Meh, this game wasn't all that great outside of multiplayer anyways, let me know if the PS3 gets Dead Rising, or Gears of War anytime soon, then I might be a little less confident in my 360.

Oh i feel pretty confident with my purchase. PLUS ITS RELIABLE!!!

Really cause I have the model with the 64 nanometer chips so I don't have to worry, plus with the exclusives I'm set, I won't be getting a PS3 until Final Fantasy XIII comes out, and besides if I wanted to play a PS3 I could go right down into the living room and play my girlfriends PS3.

Plus dead rising and GoW wouldnt have been exclusive if the ps3 was out at the same time. Developers only had one next gen when them games were made. Now that halos finished, i dont understand why u still gloat.

Correction, [A] Capcom officially announced that the PS3 would never get it's mits on Dead Rising, though Lost Planet was never confirmed [B] If this were the case then why haven't they been ported over? Because a lot of developers don't have faith in the PS3 because the fact of the matter is games cost a rediculous amount to be made for the PS3, they almost lost FFXIII, but just barely managed to keep it, because price demands exploded for the game. Thridly, the PS3 may have MGS 4, Uncharted, and so on, but they lost most of their titles that were planned to be exclusives, Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry 4, Slient Hill 5, Resident Evil 5 and others. Fourthly the Blu-ray uses a 10 year old video codec, and Sony praises it as new, sure you can fit more on the disc, but isn't it funny how an HD-DVD can have just as good quality, if not better at less the space. And soon enough the memory on an HD-DVD will be much greater, allowing for just as much disc content as a Blu-Ray disc for half the price. Oh and I posted the news about Toshiba potentially adding the built in HD-DVD player, so it's no skin off my nose. Finally I am a Sony fan, but I have also done my research, and in the end, who buys what, or who gets what games is a matter of opinion, and the developers, so I'm not gloating, I'm just giving my opinion, and I am entitled to do that, just as you're welcome to give yours in the end, it won't change how one another feels.

You still havent stated what exclusives are coming to the 360 in the next few months? Plus im talking about games on the blu-ray not films. Films can only look so good, whereas u can keep expanding on games. Not just graphics e.g. uncompressed audio? More extras? This is my opinion but its a fact that the ps3 is the better system, sure it doesnt have as many games but 1 year is a long time. The 360 only got ahead because it got out before the ps3. I guess we will be seeing the next xbox very soon.

Okay, obviously the PS3 has upcoming games, you can't expect the XBOX to be getting all the titles with a new system, but lets talk about the games XBOX 360 has some it has gotten recently, Halo 3, BioShock, Halo 3 was the biggest selling pre-order in history, lets talk about porting games, like let say F.E.A.R which in it's transition from the 360 and PC versions, which turned out at utter rubish on PS3. Lets talk about one of the best video games availble, Gears of War and how the PS3 won't ever see it, how in the transition from 360 to PS3 it would probably be as bad as F.E.A.R. Now lets move to some other shared titles, how about Jericho which critics and gamers praised on the 360, but stood back with a 6.6 on the PS3, compared 7.1 on the 360. Or what about all the promises Sony made pre-PS3 and failed to meet, or how the PS3 can barely gain a foot hold in it's native country of Japan. To name a few exclusives coming to 360 in the months Naruto: Rise of Ninja, Halo Wars, Banjo-Kazooie 3, Splinter Cell 5, Doom Arcade. I will not continue this arguement any further, my opinion has been stated, and will not change this is how I feel. Maybe when FFXIII comes out my thoughts and arguement will change.

And ahem if you stopped and read, I mentioned Jericho, F.E.A.R, as well as exclusives coming to the 360 in recent months, but I guess when my point is valid just pick out the fact that I bring up an older title, geez guess Mario lovers are fools too because most of them talk about the original Mario and as well as the newer generation. Guess that makes Legend of Zelda fans not valid arguers as well for comparing the past games to newer.

Same here, I just don't feel like arguing with you HK, let me just express though, I have nothing against you and if I made it seem that way I'm sorry.

There's a lot of ps3 hate but I still love my system. I was planning on buying 360 but after my friend brought over his LOUD ass elite (I mean really loud fan) with the ac adapter looking like it could transform into voltron I changed my mind. I changed my mind because I wasn't all that impressed with Halo3 as well. It was hooked up to my 1080i set through HDMI cables and didn't dazzle me like I was hoping it would. Plus, every game was riddled with people talking major garbage, racism and so forth. It was funny back in the day, I used to rock Halo 2 all the time and loved the smack talk but I guess I am through with that. I guess since Halo 3 was so underwhelming, I might as well save my money and buy more PS3 games. All my friends with 360s only have 1 game, Halo 3. I have about 10-15 psn titles plus 8 games for ps3.

Really? Well your friend must have modded the fan or you live in some place quite hot, because my girlfriend has an Elite and that is much more quiet then the PS3, and big whoop the power pack is big wow like you're really going to notice it, you'd be gaming with the 360 not staring at the power pack. And Halo 3 not that great gee I wonder if it being the fastest selling pre-order and being a top rated game both visually and mechanically make you wrong. Also if you don't like H3 move on there are plenty of other great titles for the 360, sorry I had to voice my thoughts

haha, yeah no prob. I was probably expecting more from it and since I got used to graphical masterpieces like heavenly sword, GT5 prologue and such, I was not impressed. Maybe only certain elites are loud, but everytime the game would be loading and there was complete silence from my surround sound, I'd hear a loud ass whooooooooooosh noise. We were all like damn, and it was me and 4 of my boys. We all heard the same thing and was laughing at it. The ac adapter reminded me of the N64 AC adapter, lol. Nah but seriously, I'm sure many people are enjoying H3, I loved H2 and maybe in like 3 years if MS gets the 3 rings fixed I might pick it up.

PS: He didn't mod is elite, it's stock and I live NJ, kinda cold lately like in the 50s.

Weird, GoW is beyond Heavenly Sword IMO, and the RROD is fixed all 360s now come with the 64 nanometer chips which eliminate it.

yeah, gameplay wise GOW is better, but graphically HS is the most impressive game in my collection.
Anyway, I might have to get the wife to buy me the 360 for christmas.

sorry mate the over all disagrees, I played HS, no offense mate, but it sorta just seemed like God of War with a female instead of Kratos.

im not a microsoft fan but even i like gears of war better than HS, i mind as well play God of War 3(not out yet) instead of HS.

Gantz, I thought you was comparing god of war to HS, Im not sure why you would compare games in 2 totally different categories unless the reason is that the box's only notable games are shooters.
HS recieved mixed reviews, some even worse than an 8, but I still think it's awesome.

The HS game has certain parts that the 360 just cant handle. For example, 100's of soilders attacking at the same time with no lagg. Plus no way is the ps3 louder than the elite. I dont notice any sound when im playing. Anyways wasnt this thread bout Lost planet. Back to topic PLZ

Ahem N3: Ninety-Nine Knights would unleash thousands of soldiers at you at once without lag, but notably they failed on the combat system in that game. And as far as the PS3, Elite thing goes well then I guess you'd have to compare the systems, both are in open spaces and work without fail yet the PS3 is louder, launch model 60GB PS3.



Ahem, a catagory isn't what matters, I was simply saying HS isn't that great, it's pretty much God of War with a chick. Secondly why would I mention a PS2 game when giving an arguement about the 360, that'd be like talking about Halo while trying to defend the PS3. But as HK said back to Lost Planet. LP isn't that great it's most notable feature was online play and even with all these added features, it's still not that great. I imagine it'll look how F.E.A.R did after it was ported utter rubbish.
