We were in the country for the Japanese PSP Slim and Lite launch on the 20th. The above image was snapped on our way to day one of the Tokyo Game Show and we knew then that the launch would prove to be a success. We had no idea how right we were. The PSP Slim and Lite, aided by the Crisis Core bundle released on the 13th, has sold well over 300,000 units in its first three days.

This official number from Enterbrain (via Famitsu) show 326,645 PSPs have been sold, 75,943 of which were Crisis Core versions. We were in Akihabara on the 24th and it seemed that everywhere was sold out of PSPs of all kinds, except for one second hand shop which had two Crisis Core models left. We're intrigued to see how long these sales will go on for; not long is our guess. Where's Monster Hunter Portable 3 when you need it?

Wow so it really took off eh? xD I am one of the 75,943 with a Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII PSP Slim, and the slim is awesome, I reccemmend it both as a slim owner and an orginal PSP - 1001 owner. Like I always say one for CFW the other for Official.

75,943 of 326,645 PSPs sold are Crisis Core bundle?? That's really mad!

BTW isn't there supposed to be only 77,777 units of Crisis Core bundle released to be sold?
Mister D. Riller

Um actually, it's not the least bit hard to hold, it's super light wieght, and for the features it has it's awesome. I thought the same thing till I acutally got a slim, now I am a proud PSP fat & slim owner. As far as the hand thing goes, I am a fella, and I have large hands it's not that hard to hold, but it will make your hands sweat a lot, so that is a drawback.

I like the size of the original PSP as well; I even have it in a case as the added bulk improves the grip.

But the point is obviously to compete with the DS Lite, and it seems to be doing really well.

Just use Play-Asia, you get it for the same price as you would eBay, except it's reliable, and offers some kind of warranty. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII PSP Slim there's the link
