Microsoft rules out Xbox 360 price cut in Japan due to poor sales

Microsoft's Takashi Sensui has ruled out the possibility of an Xbox 360 in Japan despite continued lacklusture sales in the region, reinforcing that the activity of price cutting will not be engaged in the near future. As evident by recent media showsings, MS seems to be hard at work at bringing over more local content to the region which ultimately will have a bigger impact in Japan than drastic price cuts would do as if people are not interested, they are just not interested no matter the price (within reason).

QUOTE
The Japanese subsidiary of software giant Microsoft Corp. is not cutting the price of Xbox 360 video game console in Japan in the near future, Japan Today said on Tuesday.

Microsoft Co. executive officer and chief of the home and entertainment division, Takashi Sensui, ruled out the price cut despite the poor sales of the game machine in Japan.

It's a shame that the Japanese don't seem to interested in the best option of the next-gen consoles. I can understand them liking the Wii, but their fascination with the PS3, with the huge price, obscure Blu-Ray format, lack-luster online gameplay, and Sony's general treatment of the consumers is beyond me. Sony legitimately seems to hate the PSP community, and with time, it'll no doubt be the same as the PS3 community.
