Hi i got a game and it was a dat file. i tried renaming it to iso, cso, and i searched google to find out a way to change it to something playable on the psp, but to no avail. I tried playing just the dat, but it didnt show up. I have 3.40 oe-a and i put it in the root of the memory stick in the iso folder. If anybody knows a program or can help, please tell me.

Try using UNDGev 4
It might work for converting dat. to iso. or cso.

There's the link:

I have to ask: did this work for you?

I've been searching around for a way to convert dat to iso, and this is the only place I found with any answer. But UMDGen just shuts down when I try to load up a dat file.

Is there anything special I might need to do?

Edit: Heheh... Never mind me. RTFM, and all that...

Okay, yeah, I'm still having problems. I have the directories like this:

Disg->
PSP-Game->
icon0.png
pic0.png
pic1.png
param.sfo
SYSDIR->
boot.bin
eboot.bin
UPDATE->
data.bin
eboot.bin
param.sfo
USRDIR->
data.dat

I put the whole folder (the top folder, Disg) into UMDGen and saved as an iso. And a cso. Neither one even showed up in the PSP menu.

What might I be doing wrong?

Shameless bump...

Does anyone have more information about this program? I've tried many different configurations concerning file structure, file names, dummy files, cso compression...

I thought the problem was that I didn't create the umd_data.bin file. Then I tried both cso and iso. I tried different compression rates...

If it makes a difference, this is this is for Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness.
