ok so i backed up my Flash0 on to my PC desktop so i could add custom XMB themes now stupidly along the way i replaced the VSH folder in my backed up FLash0 folder on my desktop. and then when i thought i was putting my original Flash0 folder back onto my psp, it came up with disk is full, so i couldnt put it on, so i thought what the???

anyways i clicked cancel and thought i would be ok, but i wasnt...

i went out of recovery mode and instead of the SCE logo it came up with the stupid blue vista orbs..ARGH!

i then realised what i had done...

anyways i say its sem - bricked because. I can turn it on normally - The blue vista logo appears and the xmb loads up..without any icons and i cant move around or anything or load anything from the xmb and after around 15 seconds it turns off.
Now the big problem is i cant access recovery, i turn on my psp with R button held in and just black, backlit screen, and nothing, tried aimlessly pressing directions and x to see if anything would happen but no.

HOWEVER i put in an original UMD game and it works! so its sorta a semi brick isnt??

I need help sad.gif

It does sound like a semi-brick, yes.
Playing around with flash0 is always dangerous.

The main thing is to somehow access recovery.
There is an EBOOT you can get to load recovery from the XMB I think, but if you can't access that either...
What happens if you load a UMD, then press HOME and quit the game; can you get to the XMB?

Unless anyone here has any more ideas, then you might need to get it chipped or try returning it to the store you bought it from or to Sony for a replacement.
I don't know any good sites for PSP modchips as luckily for me I've never had to use them.

I tried helping him for a bit today trying to get his psp into recovery ADW but nothing was working.. I think he corrupted his flash0 when he exited recovery after running out of space while putting a custom XMB on .. just my opinion though smile.gif I do 100% agree with you that he will need to get it chipped or have his motherboard replaced or have his psp returned for an exchange
dtvhn21
well if it is really bricked i guess it's either buy a new one or have it unbricked if there's someone who render such services at your area... in our country there's a guy who unbricks psp's...
NyghtcrawleR
Try buying a new psp and returning the screwed up one unless you feel like getting a mod chip, which is expensive and you need to know how to solder well.

dtvhn21
good luck dude, hope that your psp would be unbricked...

Before you pay for someone to do it, you might want to check out Pandora's Battery.
Anyone with a homebrew-enabled PSP can now unbrick or downgrade all current PSPs.
la_faker_81
Well i tried that battery thing and i ended up bricking my psp.

Exactly what happened? Did it brick when you tried to setup the battery, or when you tried to use it?
Someone else around your area can probably help you out using Pandora's Battery now anyway.

There is a pack you can use then your semi brick is repaired but your PSP will back to 1,5 ....
Heres the link: http://rapidshare.com/files/27711808/RECOVERY.rar
You must place it: ms0:/PSP/GAME/

And then turn off your PSP and go in Recovery Mode.
Then Select the next: Use Eboot.pbp in Recovery or something like that wink.gif
Then your PSP is in 1.5 without a semi brick

Good Luck

That was his problem; he couldn't get to Recovery Mode.

But if I remember correctly, enverse got his PSP unbricked by paying someone to do it.
