Japanese PSP homebrew developer SofiyaCat came up with an application that allows users to play Youtube videos without having to convert or host the files using a computer, known as PSPtube!. Do note though that this is not an FLV player as it actually play videos directly from the said site.

We really can't understand Japanese but it's a good thing QJ.NET loyal reader and forum member a0dki11s had a correspondence with the owner of the application and got these details:
You need a Developer ID, and put it on the psptube.cfg
Download the PSPTube20070805.zip on the link provided
If you are in CFW look in the zip for a folder named over 200
Drag the "psptube" to the GAME folder in your CFW (BTW I'm currently on 3.51 M33)
Open the psptube folder and edit the "psptube.cfg" file (using notepad)
Look for the line dev_id = "" inside the parenthesis if you have a YouTube developer account, type the username there.
Save it and start youtubing
Regarding the developer account for YouTube, a0dki11s also provided a step-by-step process on how to make one over at QJ.Net's PSP development forum. Aside from that, a key map has also been provided. PSPtube! has its own Readme file, so make sure you go over that. Going over at the forum link below is also advisable.

Download PSPTube!

Eh. yeah right. Youtube on the PSP without streaming it from a PC? Believe it when I see it. I might even downgrade and upgrade to do it...
PSP_God
if it dosent play files hosted by the pc does it connect to your wireless router??
redsingle
yes this program works and it connects to the wireless router. at qj they have the .cgj files with the devid so all you do is take the fold within the 200over then replace the .cgj file and it will work i got it workin and it is great just that the sound isnt always in sync
balabangla
wow this sounds awesome, then we couuld watch live streaming telly n footy!!
ThUgZtaH
youtube on psp does imply that you have to have a FAST connection, right? knowing PSP's bandwidth limitations, i'm not really surprised why the video and sound aren't always "in sync"...
michooo
the links are not working..btw,wuts the speed of loading vids?

It's sad I'm not a youtubeaholic.

I don't really use YouTube but it sounds impressive.

Awesome news, just great.
Anarchist86ed
can someone post a video of this working?

Minus a PC secretly streaming the video or it having been pre-cconverted and put on the PSP?

I still don't believe it...

This program works really good if u download the videos first, then watch it. The ones i watched w/o downloading, the audio and video was VERY badly out of sync. Like 10-15 seconds. Anyone mess around with the config file and fix this?
lokister
i have yet to try this and from the sound of it il wait till they finish and iron out the bugs, its still on test
ThUgZtaH
i guess this still needs a lot of work.......

unless you wanna watch an algorithm march that's out of sync biggrin.gif
