Last week I downgraded my PSP from 2.71 to 1.50 and back up to 3.40 oe-a and it works perfect! But i got a friend who wants me to do his PSP but it is a 2.50 version. My question is do I need anything different to downgrade it to 1.50 and then up to 3.40 oe-a? Or can I use what I already have when I did my PSP? Any links to some guides? Any help you can give me will be appreciated... Thx...

well first and most importantly check to see what mobo he has

http://www.psp-spot.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40785 go here to check if its a TA-082 mobo or not

Once you find out what mobo he has I would go to 2.71 again and use the easy downgrader. Its the best downgrader that ever came out. If you need a link just let us know.

Checked the board and there is no writing on it. So now do I upgrade to 2.71 and then just repeat the steps I did to my psp? If so what do I use to upgrade this psp from 2.50 to 2.71?

Yes, that should work fine.

Use the official 2.71 firmware update: 2.71 EBOOT
Copy the "EBOOT.PBP" file to "ms:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE\" and run the update.
