While the Gameboy and its various incarnations used cartridges that came with their own proprietary plastic storage cases, the UMD games come only in their original storage cases. But the PSP cases are nearly the size of DVD cases - heck, a single case is bigger than an actual PSP! - so it’s impractical to carry around games in their original cases. But since the data sector of the PSP UMD are exposed, it’s a bit risky to carry the games around without the cases, since it’s possible they can get scratched almost as easily as regular CDs. The first thing you notice on this product is the very bad “Engrish” writing on the packaging, clearly reminding you that this is not a licensed Sony product. Bad English grammar aside, if you’re after a cheap and practical method of transporting your UMD movies and games together with your PSP, then it looks like the Airform UMD Pouch is the answer you’ve been looking for.
The Airform UMD Pouch has space for three UMD and one space for a Memory Stick. The case is composed of two outside plastic shells that are joined together with a zipper. The case is designed to fit well in your pocket, and if you feel that the Airform UMD Pouch qualifies as a trendy fashion item, a handy wrist strap comes with it as well.
If you’re after a case for storing three UMD on a budget, then the Airform UMD Pouch should satisfy your needs. But if you’re after a case that holds more UMD or allows for expansion for additional UMD as your game and movie collections expands, then you might have to look for a different alternative, such as the Capdase Deluxe UMD Protective Case. But since the average amount of games and movies per PSP owner is between three and four UMDs, the Airform UMD Pouch should accommodate the needs for most PSP enthusiasts.
