I am running on firmware 3.4 oe-a. I am trying to use umd dumper but none of the games work in the end, they show up and everything but they never run and it returns to the psp menu. i tryed using fastloader but i heard u need devhook for that. i dont know much at all of devhook. can some give me some advice on what would be the best thing to do.

Firstly, you shouldn't need DevHook or Fastloader if you're on 3.40 OE-A.

Just put the ISOs in "ms:\ISO\" (a folder called "ISO" in the root of your memory card) and load them directly from the Game section of the XMB.

If they still don't work then try downloading an ISO off this site to see if it is the dumper causing the problems.

umd dumper works fine for me, maybe your file is corrupted, try to download a new dumper...

its not that i want other peoples isos or i dont know how they work. i done alot with isos and i know exactly how to use them. I want to know how to rip them from a umd instead of having to go through the whole download or torrent process which is usaulyy extensive. my probleem is qwhen i rip them the files never rip properly. therefor the files that iu make from the dumper do not work. the icon shows up but it sdays that it can play the game.

i would think the downloading it would be faster and more efficent... even if your internet is slow

I think the easiest and best way to make ISO's is USB SSS.

1.All you have to do is go to the first selection, (i think its called UMD ISO9660) in the app, then a window pops up
2.Drag the ISO onto your desktop.
3.Go to USB mode and put the ISO in the ISO folder.
4.Now just run your game from the memory stick in the games section.

Tada! now you have whatever game you ripped on your memory stick.
And it only takes about 10 minutes, Thank Booster!

NOTE! you must have a UMD in the drive when you play the game!

Cant remember, i was in my random junk folder, so I'd thought I'd use it.

Fair enough.
You could try a different ripping program; USB SSS has already been suggested, and if that doesn't work you could try:
UMD Dumper v0.2: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/38
UMD DAX Dumper Beta 0.2: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/540
(I'm not sure which one you are currently using)
If they still don't work, it could be a problem with your memory card.
