Hi all,
I upgraded from fw 1.50 to 3.40 OE-A with no problems and managed to play everything that I already had.
I tried putting some ISO's in the ISO folder but only got corrupted icons when I browsed through my PSP. The same thing also happens with CSO's that I know are working from other users.
I've changed my settings to just about everything concievable but still no joy
Has anyone else had this problem? Or does anyone know how to resolve it?
I would be massively grateful to anyone who can help me solve this, I know there are some talented souls here!

Well, after days and sleepless nights of trying to figure it out, turns out I have a FAKE memory stick!
I can't test the big game files on my genuine one as it's only a 512MB, but files which didn't work on the fake 4GB work totally fine on the real one!
I started getting suspicious of it when even pictures and videos weren't showing up. I compared the cards and the fake one has a poor serial number print on the back as opposed to the laser cut number on the genuine one.
I also checked by pressing triangle while I was hovering over the pictures icon and clicking information. The Magic Gate compatible part says unknown instead of yes.
Beware of these very good imitations!

Damn that has got to suck man. Try compressing your larger games into CSO to play on your 512mb stick.

I'm just going to get a refund, as the seller seems to accept these. I think I'll buy a SanDisk one instead as I've heard that they are hardly ever faked.
Afte experimenting, the capacity is actually less than 1GB but it has been hard coded to a 4GB. It will hold more than 1GB of data but the excess becomes corrupt.

Hate that happened to ya bro, glad you can return it though. Don't know where you got it but know that at any given time up to 97% of flash mem on eBay is fake. Some of it work fine, some are like yours and some don't work at all

It's a Sony stick. To be honest, I'd stay well away from eBay, as Sandisk are being copied now too.
Look for some discount store where you can get a printed receipt. I just ordered a 4GB Sony from www.play.com with a huge discount.

Flashing doesn't fix everything. If his memory stick is fake, then reflashing isn't gonna help him any.

It's hardly unheard of anymore! At least 9 out of 10 on eBay are fake. Hopefully my new stick will solve all! I pick it up on Friday the 27th so I'll let you all know how it goes.

I thought that there were more Sony fakes than SanDisk fakes before, but nowadays there are loads of fakes for both.
It's easier just to buy your memory cards from a reputable retailer (not eBay), even if it means paying a bit more.
