In a recent interview with a gaming publication SCEE game director Tony Buckley revealed that Sony are not overly concerned with the install base of the PSP, but of course they would like it to be as big as possible. He claims that PSP software sales are picking up strongly and the hardware is moving good amounts particularly in the US. He concluded by stating that it is Sony's job to create applications which really drive to the PSP. Buckley also heralded the PSP as a great machine but one must focus on how the games can build on its functionality rather than on whether a game was ported over or not.
