Halo on the PS3, not the 360 (thanks to Blu-ray)

There's a rumor going around that the Fox movie company has picked up the primary license rights to the Halo movie, a move which has made many people cheer since there were worries the movie would never see the light of day. If the rumor turns out to be correct though, it brings up an interesting point -- Fox is exclusive to Blu-ray and they'd be the ones publishing the title when it was released. Also, Microsoft has come out previously and explicitly said that they will not be releasing a Blu-ray add-on for the 360, leaving Xbox 360 owners high and dry if they want to watch the HD treatment of their ambrosia.

So will PlayStation 3 owners have exclusive access to Halo the movie when it is released? The irony would be so delicious that Peter Moore's head would explode -- but things are a little too early to be sure about anything when it comes to the Halo movie. And anyway, regardless of which format it is released, Microsoft is going to find someway to get a HD version to 360 owners. Even if it means caving in and admitting Blu-ray dominance.

If this is the case, which its still obviously a rumor. How do you think this will play out?

Hahaha. That would be great. I could just see the faces of the fan boys. XDXD
Stupid halo

I totally agree Hk88 and would love to see the day when this happens. Although, i think that Halo completely sucks! Lets see if Fox can pull the movie off and delver the film on a shiny blue ray disk!

Update:
Due to a few misguiding headlines and twisted words, it turns out as though 20th Century Fox has only bought the licensing rights to the Halo franchise merchandise. There has yet to be an official announcement on the rights to the film and as of now FOX only holds the rights to distribute items such as clothes, accessories, toys and print publications.

Until further announcements, the Halo movie project is still a no-go.

Well it looks like the rumor wasnt completely true yet. But on the other hand, the actual movie still isnt confirmed to even being made yet.

Well im still hoping that Fox will show Microsoft and their Fan boys where they/we all stand on the blu-ray HD DVD war.

I'm not a massive Halo fan but it wouldn't make a whole lot of since to have a game title that was exclusive to x box then make it into a movie and have it exclusive to PS3 users and people who own a blu-ray disc player,
But not many people own a Blu-ray disc player thats not a PS3 due to the cost of it.
All the ones that I have seen are about twice the price of the PS3
NyghtcrawleR
They have blu-ray players that cost $500, thats less than the ps3....

Really??
Thats in America though...Ireland is always way more expensive!
Like the new I phone or something is coming out here for around 1500€ and it's coming out in America for something like 400-500€ not sure of exact figure like but you know what I'm getting at tongue.gif
It will be a while before I get one though because it would make more since to invest in a HD TV first tongue.gif and I'm working on that wink.gif

I hear that. If you get a blu-ray player I would say go ps3 though, which I'm sure you would if you did.

And thats crazy about the I-Phone.
