i have a sony 4gb ms and i've been getting lag on in game video. in games such as dungeon siege and initial d and a few others i cant remember at the moment the in game video, such as the intro videos, would lag and skip when being played from the ms. well i force formatted my memory stick to FAT format using windows. instead of the standard FAT32 that it is when you use the psp to format the ms. i loaded initial d and dungeon siege just for the opening video scenes and the lag was gone and everything played perfectly. video was smooth with no lag or jitter. has anyone else tried this? would the ms being in FAT instead of FAT32 cause any potential problems?

edit: sorry mods i meant to put this in the general discussion and help section. i must not have been paying attention. you can move it if you want.

its because the memory stick has to catch up, 4GB memory sticks are not the best for games that load as they play

my gfs san disk never had the problem. my 2gig sony never had the problem only my 4gig.

anyways i was merely stating the problem is gone after i used windows to format it as FAT instead of the psp FAT32, before it would lag and the memstick light would blink like crazy, now it plays smooth and only intermittently will the access memory stick light come on. i was just wondering if anyone else has tried this. and if there were any known problems using FAT instead of FAT32

waiting for what? the video to lag through? thats annoying when it takes 2 or 3 seconds to go through 1 second of video. ive just been skipping videos or playing those games on my 2gig.

I haven't tested the difference between FAT and FAT32, but was aware that it did make a difference (at the moment I can't remember what it was...). About there being any problems of using FAT instead of FAT32, I cannot think of why using FAT would be a problem so since it has fixed your video lag issue I would recommend you to stick with FAT.
