ok so check this out.. i went to my neighbors how to see his psp.. he got it like right when it came out.. and i looked at his firmware.. and it was 1.5.. i was amazed! just astonished the fact that he COULD to cfw if he wanted too.. (i updated to 3.30 w/out knowing about homebrew) and i have 3.40.. which blows.. ehh oh well

but anyways... i was wonder if i should ask him to trade my brand new psp 3.40 for his really crappy.. and i mean crappy 1.5.. like its got scratches all over it.. and it doesn't even have internet capabilities lol

but yeah.. what should i do?

Hell yes i would trade him in a heartbeat! to me an unmodded psp is a brick!

OF COURSE YOU WOULD A SCRATCHED UP 1.5 PSP IS BETTER THAN A GOOD LOOKING 3.40 ONE

TRADE HIM scratches can be ignored. Plus once you install CFW you'll have the internet browser back. That the point in CFW to give you all the fun of 1.5 but the environment of the higher FWs.

and they sell pimp fly skins and covers for the psp everyday...

i've heard of homebrew like a thousand times.. but idk what the heck it is lol

Homebrew is games people make for free like Dungeons, Super Mario War, a port of Doom, etc. Its also applications like GPS maps, organizers, etc.

Then you can have emulators to play old systems like Super Nintendo, Genesis, etc.

Then you can play isos (backup psp games)

And so forth.

EDIT: Oh and if the screen is really scratched you could always get a replacement screen.

cfw is the shit. you can recover the bricks, you can dl isos and play them, you can install plugins, you can fullt customize the xmb. just dont go to the 3.40oea.lol im lovin the 3.03oec still

you will also save thousands of dollars. literally. i have 24 iso's. which is just under $1000. its really helpful

As others have said (im late to the thread i know) Trade! im pretty sure you can buy replacement screens and faceplates! a 3.40 downgrader probally wont be out for along time, if at all.

depending on how bad it really is, just ask to trade, you could always replace the casing. but depending on how you look at it you could always just sell yours for like 30 bucks off to someone you know and take the 30 dollar hit and buy a downgradeable one. or get lucky on ebay and get one with cfw already on it seen them sell for 150-160 a couple of times

Tough one, I prefer to get a 1.5 good PSP, how can someone not update, doesnt he have any games that force updates?

I reckon you should trade him, My PSP is all scratched lmao and has a replacement giant joystick but its better than a 3.4 PSP ANY day.

Yeah trade and don't look back lol. And go from 1.5 to 3.03oe-c. I still love 3.03oe-c. With CW you can do just about everything lol.

They have 3.50 out and I this one guy online [unreliable source] says there is 3.60 and he has 3.80.

If new PSPs come with 2.71 why not get one of those and downgrade?
