I saw a Windows 95 application for the PSP somewhere, couldn't get it to work unfortunately.
The problem is, the PSP may not have enough memory to run more advanced programs....the thing you want to emulate has to be 2 generations back or it wont work and even if it does, the quality will be too crap to use.

Lol, good idea, but I think it would defeat the purpose

The future is huge for homebrew. I think using using virtual memory setup on the mem stick will allow tons of options. the only thing really needed is program ideas that are worth the effort and coders with lots of time..

The only bad thing is that the PSP might get old soon, and Sony will entice people to buy (possibly) a new handheld, such as a PSP2 with awesome features....but a hell of a lot of protection.

I think the only reason why homebrew exists, is to show that Commercial Systems are not better than us
Proving that we can hack, crack and mod these consoles proves that the developers are nothing more than you and me
Creating a HomeBrew system, would be the same as creating a Commercial system, defeating the idealism of homebrew
I also believe homebrew is a way to 'rebel' and show creativity
Kind of like the forbidden fruit
If it wasnt illegal or forbidden, would you still wanna do it?

you do have a good point there
there should be a way to show these huge companys what we want in the way of gaming consoles insted of them just guessing what we want.
either that or make them build a console that we can fully edit with software and hardware so we can really get are little creative minds going, it wouldnt be illegal that way but it would be like a comp who could build the best console out there.

Well its not illegal.
Anyway, you couldnt run windows on the psp, not enough memory to do so. Plus no reason to. But the homebrew future still looks bright.

You can already run Win 95 and 98 on PSP via Bosch emulator.

theres no limites to the psp, if you are a true hacker, the psp can do whatever you want with it, about running windows, it is possible, they already have windows 98 and windows xp running on the psp, the only true downside of it is having to wait for the very long 15min to load the OS, becasue the psp and cpu is very slow, it maybe capable of running games and other stuff fast, but when it comes back into running software yep, you expect lag and loading time issues, still this is avoidable if someone insist to have xp running that perfect as like a pc unit the programer could force the psp to use its addtional ram and memoey to load it faster, but it would cause malfunctions and overheats during this process, the you'll need a fan lol. why would you go throgh this haha. but dont expect vista" the ral one to work on it, is isnt even capable to load on the psp.

u both have a good point!!! we show those developers that us without studying that we can do the same thing(longer) but we can!!!!!! they dont control us...........we control them
P.S. and with this i close my 200th post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

The psp scene will run out eventually, when everything possible is done for the psp. After, i think hackers will be spending their time hacking the ps3. Apparently it's much easier to hack, because you can put linux on it. might install linux after i get my ps3 back after Sats.

lol. yea, but its also a lot cheaper to hack the psp than ps3. a lil whoopsie will only cost u $160 compared to $600. and as for a protable homebrew counsel, laptop with linux installed. there ya go

i dont think the homebrew sciene will ever die for the psp, there os so much you can do with it...
take the xbox for example, very rich homebrew sciene, even with the xbox 360 on the shelves, the sciene has not "died"
how about the dreamcast? i can find dreamcast homebrew forums and activity in about 2 minutes... when did sega give up on it? 10 yeas ago? something like that??
the psp will never die, as long as it exists there will be somebody pushing the limits of what it can do
as far as a homebrew system, there are a few aleady out, and i see they have already been mentioned in this thread....
check out sourceforge for some homebrew action and you will see u already have a system that can play it
linux FTW!

i recon if a company made that, then it would be an instant money maker. everyone would be buying them
