This game has got me excited about the ps3. I know there are alot of MG fans on these board so I thought the first post in this section should be about it. I did have a link to a teaser trailer for it but it won't work.

Count me in guys... I just tried Metal Gear Solid in my PS1, and I was never the same. Then I got the VR Missions Metal Gear 2: Sons of Liberty was the reason why I bought the PS2 unit, then got Substance. I then bought the Document of MGS. Then came out Snake Eater, bought that one too. Now I'm hearing about Substinence (Substance spin-off for Snake Eater). Metal Gear Ac!d was the reason why I got the PSP. So,,,, What's next???? MGS4 equals PS3!!! Yeah baby!!!

I hope they don't do something stupid to the series like they did with Metal Gear Acid
It was the first and only Metal Gear game I didn't like.
I played it for about 10 min. and returned it. It was the most boring/frustrating game i've ever played

I really hope they don't include Raiden in MGS4

They need to go back and make PS3 remakes of the old Nintendo and MSX games: Metal Gear ; Metal Gear 2:Snake's Revenge ; and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake

you should have gave it a bit more time, honestly metal gear acid is a great psp game, probably one of the best games to have, oh well, i'm looking forward to MGS4 and it's "Living World".

Hey lancell I'm like 98% u(I bought PS2 for a lotta games, not just MGS). The exact reason why I bought PSP is the MGA game, a great game, though I haven't play it much since I have to read Japanese dict a lot to understand what's going on . To me, MGS4 definitely will be the main reason for buying PS3, besides RE5.

well wat can i say, mgs4 will be mind blowing, these types of games make me wanna pay a good £300 on next gen consoles

mgs3 was awesome.. mgs2 was disappointing (once raiden showed up).. struts was a bit boring as well.

Had a look at the TGS movie for MGS4. The game looks amazing visually. If the final product is going to be as good or better than it's instant killer-app. I wasn't a fan of the earlier games, but that's just because I don't have the patience for those types of games (Got about half-way through SplinterCell before I got bored).

The battle really is going to be about the quality & "fun-ness" of the games rather than the Xbox360, PS3, Revolution consoles themselves. They're all ridiculously powerful...

yea,

stevens the visuall side looks mind-blowing, and i do tend to drift away through sneak-em-up type games, but you get used to it
i also believe that the ps3 and 360 will not/cannot be judged from the sheer power, its the target audience that matter.
at the moment im slightly swaying towards 360 as the release date suits me fine(in time for my older bro's b-day).

the storyline in mgs series so far has been phenominal. its well put together, BIG PROPS to the writers in this.

I never played the series before, but after one look at this... i am now starting to play them... currently waiting for the new one

The only thing I don't get is why Snake is so freakin' old!

But this game along with Killzone are making me want a PS3 even more.

Maybe he might die during the production of the game and they'll have a backup character... Maybe Mario or Sonic will play the part... I wish I could be Metal Gear Solid MAN!!!

I like the trailer. I wish the voices had been translated to english. But none the less it was cool. I liked the camoflage suit snake had on. I thought that they were going to do the box thing again. I always thought that would look a little suspicious to me.

they should've used snake instead of the old man. that old man does not look right for the game.

The old man IS Snake, who is one of two clones of Big Boss

Big Boss is the player in MGS3 he was cloned to make Solid Snake and Liquid Snake

Liquid Snake was evil, and the bad guy in MGS2: Sons of liberty
Solid Snake is the good guy, in MGS2, MGS, and he is an old man in MGS4

In MGS4 Solid Snake is an old man for two reason 1) it is in the future and 2) he is aging quickly because of something to do with the cloning

I really think they should make a fifth game with THE BOSS, the mother of Big Boss from when she fought in WW2 and the Cuban Missile crisis
