As stated in my sig I got vista on my new system and wondering somethings about the OS.

DRM!! Is there DRM I hear there is DRM, here are three sources from maximum PC magazine!

It says the media center deltes things automatically! Will it get rid of my MP3s, also a big thing is I have games CDs for games coped to NRGs and I use Image Drive to mount them so I can play w/o the CD by using a virtual drive, can I use virtual drives in Vista?? I dont see Image Drive there!

REALLY! Well im glad i dont use it then.

I found [and c*@cked] and program called Power ISO which miounts NRG, I thought it would be hard since NRG is propitiatory format...

They say the DRM only applys to Next Gen content and I dont think that affects me cuz I dont have a blu ray drive, heres whats up:

They forced DVD decrypter to stop and they mare making new DRM, so I canot copy new DVDs! Solution, now I dont buy DVDs! I am not buying Blu Ray, so I just download movies. The only reason why I bought DVDs instead of downloads was so I could back them up, so without that I just download and I can then view it on portable device or PC or make extra personal copies!

I have never had the chance to experience Vista, i heard its alot different from xp, the layout and its quite confusing, not so user friendly? i cant run it anyways my pc is old.
HK88
its not that different. Im glad its only next gen stuff, cause i dont have any. Vista is the best
RealG187
How ever this says one says the media center deleted copyrighted stuff! Or is that only for Next Gen stuff?

By the way Regal, you have this thread in the Wii general section lol, not the OFF TOPic general.

Yes i also thought vista would have been better than it sounds.

It is rumoured to sometimes lose saved data such as work etc.

DVD decrypter was never forced to stop, Macrovision bought the program from the guy who made it for an "undisclosed sum" no doubt in the millions an ultra ISO also mounts .NRG but am not sure if it works with vista
RealG187
macrovision can goto hell, they are ruining dvds! if movie corps are mad at me for downloading movies and not buying dvds, they can blame macrovision! i have da right to copy to use on portable device, since i cannot copy dvd on psp, p2p it is!

Guys DRM sucks crap, its buggy shitty and is very in-effective at what its supposed to go. Many giant entrainment companies have dropped DRM....soon more will follow.

Thats good to hear!

I was gonna ask if they were gonna sneak things into updates, but in messenger u said they cracked that, so hopefully they will give up, was that what they meant at the bottom of this post?
