Today I recieved my psp and I need help! It came with version 2.0, what can i do to get the most from my psp.

Thanks for sending me in the right direction, But how do you get this firmware downloaded to the psp. I downloaded the file to my computer and then to the psp memory card via usb when i go to open the file it ask me to insert some type of disk, HELP! ME!

first off you have to decide what you want to do with your psp. if you just want to just run emulators and homebrew you dont need to do anything crazy just get a loader for homebrew. 2.0 supports tiff loaders. if you want to downgrade to 1.5 to install a custom firmware. 2.0 is easy to do that with also. just get the mph 2.0 downgrader. 1.5 eboot and the custom firmware easy installer of your choice. thats how i did my gfs psp. now she has 3.03 oe-c like me

I am assuming that you have the 2.80 EBOOT.PBP file.
Then all you have to do is copy that to "ms:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE\" (create the folders if they don't exist).
Then run the update via the Game section of the XMB of your PSP, making sure you have the power cable plugged in.

its easier if he is still on 2.0. the mph downgrader uses the tiff exploit in 2.0 that way he doesnt need any hen loaders or gta:lcs or anything. all he needs is the mph downgrader/1.5eboot/oe easy installer of his choice.

Agreed, having him upgrade to 2.8 was a bad idea. 2.0 is a good firmware to downgrade from. My all time favorite is 2.71.

I need help downgrading too.
I need to downgrade to 1.50 I have a 3.03 right now and its a TA-082 model.

I tried to move the h.bin file to the psp root directory and my antivirus program will not allow it. it says the program has a trojan called pspbrick, is this normal, do i need to turn off my antivirus program. Help please!
