yeah friends of mine said the same thing man. it wasnt worth there time. some parts look really cheesy too, like the chick with a machine gun leg....come on.
OMG
I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU PEOPLE!!!!
Okay, look, it may look shitty, and grainy and corny, but you have to understand:
that's how Grindhouse films really were back then! You have to understand the concept of Grindhouse theatre: 2 or more exploitation films, with previews in-between, starring nobody actors that aren't big names. And also to note, the Grindhouse films usually had a common thread amogst them.
Here's a wiki page explaining it.To really appreciate it, you can't be going into these films, expecting a pair of films with the same calibur as Reservior Dogs and Desperado/Once Upon a Time in Mexico. These films aren't like that. These Grindhouse films are supposed to be shitty and a little bad. That's how Grindhouse films were back in the 60s and 70s. The experience is supposed be like you're at a drive-in theatre, yes, but the movies aren't supposed to be masterpieces.
That whole MISSING REEL part was done on purpose, because that kind of thing occurred back then.
And the machine gun leg on Rose McGowan? A lot of Grindhouse flims of the past were most characterized by the movie poster, or at least or some kind of image that became the only thing the film were known for. I remember Robert Rodriguez explaining on Jay Leno that before the machine gun leg, his film had nothing. It was just a nothing film, but we all now know it because of the machine gun leg. That will be the image we all know PLANET TERROR for.
....and Death Proof? Well, a guy who kills women with his car? I don't know, I didn't like Tarantino's that much. I like Robert Rodriguez's better.
But guys, you have to understand the concept of Grindhouse, please don't dismiss it as nothing. It's supposed to be a little bad.
