What apps do I need on the PSP apart from IRshell to read PDF's and TXT files?

Also, I see that IRShell uses Cygwin for the NETHOST application.

My problem is I already run CYGWIN as a service on my server, so the NETHOSTFS wont load because of it, so my question is, is it simply using FTP? but on port 7513?

I don't quite understand the question, iR Shell should have bookr built in to read PDF and TXT files.

Not sure, but I don't think it is simply FTP on port 7513, I think that NETHOSTFS works differently.

I did read the FAQ and Userguide but it says bookr plugin but where do I look to see if i have it? as i can't read anything...

Also, Where could I get more help? Or even get an FTP client on the PSP so I can download that way from my server?

Just try opening a ".txt" file in iR Shell, it should automatically open bookr.
If not you can get bookr from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/bookr/

More help about what? iR Shell? You could have a look at the official site: http://www.irshell.com/
Or just ask here as you have been doing.
I don't know about having an FTP client on your PSP, but you can definitely have an FTP server on your PSP, then use a client on your PC.

if you just get the lastest irshell it should work
if the 1.50fw version doesn't work try the 2.71 version for SFW

The version of iR Shell that I use (v3.1) already has it as a plugin.
What version do you have and where did you download it from?

ok, I got it working, someone had posted a link to a modified version of IRSHell, and it did not include the IRSHELL folder to put on the root, hence I only had the EBOOT. I finaly downloaded IRSHELL 3.1 and installed all the files. Now I need to find the IRCODES for my Dish Receivers, audio system and TV.

Thanks

Not sure if that was a question, but a good place to start is here: http://www.remotecentral.com/
Then you can look here for how to convert the codes in the CCF files to RDF format: http://www.psp-spot.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35254
