Microsoft stopping Epic from releasing Gears maps for free
Epic games founder Tim Sweeney has confirmed that MS are encouraging Epic to charge for their next batch of Gears maps. The four forthcoming maps may well have to follow the traditional MS business model, i.e you'll have to pay for them. Listen to the full podcast

I say shame on MS for this one...

to an extent, yes. but when they start charging for maps that were going to be free then thats another level.

Especially when Epic was making the maps. MS shouldnt have a say what another company should do.

Honestly, I don't see how M$ can have a say about it. If Epic wants to release the maps for free, they can. If M$ doesn't like it, then you can buy GoW 2 on the PS3. What the hell can M$ do if they say no?

they want to "encourage" microtransactions. In other words they want epic to charge and microsoft gets a cut of the profit.
