people, i can confirm that this is indeed a 100% working downgrader for 2.0 to 1.5
i tested it myself (got it from a torrent site, but same file)
and enjoying homebrew on what used to be my 2.0 psp
this is safe, follow instructions, and don't piss your pants when you see the black screen with the white numbers, just unplug and reset (or take out battery) then install the "upgrade" and follow instructions.
it stops at 99%, then shut power of (pressing power for about 10 secs until it shuts off)
restart, at the blue screen press O and it restarts again, congrats, you've now got 1.5!!!!
finally dudes (and dudettes

) it's here!!
(DONT RUN ON 1.52!!!!!)

I've opened the photgraph, got the extra file on my psp, ready for PSP 1.5 Update (the downloadable one), but can't do because of lack of battery Life??? (try again later, wich I can later on (I hope)
The thing is, I'm on 1.0 firmware version now??? Is this correct ??
And do you HAVE to take the Japanese 1.5 firmware version? Or does that not matter? (Can't I use my Metal Gear Acid 1.5 update???)

im a little unclear on the instructions, do you put the index file and the .bin file in the mp_root folder outside the movie folders, or is the root you speak of somewhere completely different? i tried the way i just said and had the overflow pic in the photo folder and the update folder in place but when i disconnected usb mode and went to photos on my psp screen it would freeze for a second then shut itself off. im pretty sure i have the .bin file and the index files in the wrong spot, please specify where i should put them. thanx man, i boght mine with 1.5, but before i knew about all the homebrew i updated to 1.52, and then 2.0, so im really looking forward to some good ol' mariokart.

the root folder is:
goto my computer, then when you connect your USB cable to PSP<>PC, the removable drive that comes up(in my case H:) is your root folder!

Hi All,
1st off

Great info and guides here, I have read through most and undertstand exactly what I need to do.
so thankyou

But!
Before I take the plunge and downgrade I hope you may be able to clear something up for me.
I read somewhere that you should'nt run MPH downgrader if you upgraded from 1.52 to 2.00 from the
UMD that ships with the PSP?
Is this true? or is it exactly the same as the DL'd version?
Thanks In advance

Hi Deadalus,
When I received my UK PSP I updated to 2.0 using the demo UMD and then later on I downgraded with the MPH downgrader with no problems.
Cheers,

I have read both pages of this thread... I am new to the psp game... I have a couple of questions that hopefully someone can answer for me... I have a version 1.51 psp... I sucessfully upgraded it to firmware 2.0 using the Socom Fireteam Bravo Game... I have downloaded the tools necessary to downgrade my psp from 2.0 to 1.5 from this site... I just wanted to make sure all the files sizes are correct and Im gonna follow the tutorial once I get a confirmation from someone... I dowloaded
http://www.psp-spot.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3741&st=0H (BIN File Size 5.37 KB)
Index (DAT File Size 480 Bytes)
Overflow (Size 16.6 KB)
http://konsolenprofis.de/downloads/download.php?id=1034EBOOT.PBP (file Size 13.2 MB)
Hit me on aim or yim to help me out.... Because i downloaded a bunch of other tools from ps2nfo.com but the files sizes are different... i want to use the utitlities from this site but i wanna make sure everything is correct... Are all these file sizes correct??? All insight would be greatly appreciated...

It's been awhile since I downgraded mine,, but I'm fairly certain it doesnt work with firmware higher than 2.0, and (I believe), that the 2.01 firmware was released to stop this particular method..
If you've got 2.6, I think you'll need to find another way..

I have an Australian psp-1002 psp that had 2.00 firm wire on so u used this downgrader and the 1.5 (well at least that what it told me) and now my psp says its vir. 1.00 and it still has a web browser and network update. Is this normal.
p.s. ive only used eboots on my 2.60 before so I don’t know how to work them and my 1.00 any help? Should I upgrade to 1.50?

wtf...
i don't know what to tell you, it sounds like bullshit to me. you say you had 2.6, and then downgraded so i have to assume you're making shit up, please don't clutter our boards with stuff like this.
if it is some kind of fluke and you somehow have an internet browser on 1.0, you should dump your firmware with one of the tools on this site and upload it to a few places for testing.
i wouldn't reccomend upgrading until you've done this.
