Yeh you could buy some crappy ones cos 9 times out of 10 they are louder just look crappy and dont last ages like ipod ones, but for a couple of quid/dollars its not much compared to ipod ones

I use Sony earphones but not the PSP ones. I use the black Fontopias, very very nice but a bit expensive. 30 quid, but they're amazing sound quality, background noise is unheard as they go into the canal of you ear and block everything else out except the sound of ur psp. Amazing bass aswell.
Try those, if not, just get some bog standard Sonys as I have a piar of those too and they're sufficiently loud and good quality.

Ipod headphones are probably the best out there if you like earbuds.

I bought the Logitech headphones for 9.99 on clearence, but have not had a loud enough engine to try them on, last trip I had two brand NEW whisper cabs, but they did work good on those though

Here's my dirty little secret. I bought some of these for about $15 at Best Buy (not sure if they still have them). For all you modders, check out this article. I replaced the foam cushions with standard earplugs and made the holes with a hot wire, then added the foam in the earpiece. I think they sound great, I can replace the foam whenever I want for cheap. Great bass and good highs.
