Nice lol. Glad the tut helped. Just remember a couple things.

1. The diagonal lines dont always have to be the same spacing and you can change how prominent they are (dark/light)
2. The diagonal lines dont even necessarily need to be there all the time, but many times they help bring the sig out.
3. That half white-transparent circle helps make the userbar seem more 3-d although again not always required. And again it does help many times.
4. Put your render over the lines not under. (Duuz, like your psp modder one, the psp is under the lines)
5. You can experiment with fonts, but be wary of the non standard fonts. On userbars those fonts many times become hard to read or unreadable.

the scan lines are a little dark, you could do with lowering the opacity on them. And the psp itself sort of blends in odd but the text is nice. Pretty good job for a first.
