hey all. ive been doing days of research on my new psp before asking any dumb questions, and i think i got most of it down, considering i'm not exactly very inclined seeing as though i have never owned or read any info about the psp prior to buying it 3 days ago.

i have version 2.71, and i wanted to play nes and snes games. i have downloaded games i want to my computer, plus the homebrew pack thingie, all of this is saved on a folder in my desktop.

i know i have to downgrade to 1.5, then upgrade? this is where i get lost, what do i download, and does anyone have a step by step way of doing this? or does anyone know of a link that already explains this process? and what folders on the psp to put them in/what to rename them?

p.s. i dont have any serial #'s on the inside of the circut board, i know this is important, but not exactly sure why...

You must have an unpatched GTA LCS UMD, You can check if its patched by putting in the UMD, going to Game, then seeing what the update is, if the update is for 2.60, your out of luck, if for 2.00, tell me and ill post the instructions

That's only for downgrading 3.03.

To downgrade 2.71/2.80, you don't need a GTA:LCS UMD.

Here's the process I would use to downgrade 2.80 or below to 1.50:
http://www.psp-spot.com/forums/index.php?s...mp;#entry208480

Make sure you run the idstoragechanger if you have a TA-082/TA-086.
When downgrading, always have a fully charged battery and the power cable plugged in.
And read the instructions very carefully before starting.

Once you're on 1.50, you can install 3.03 OE-C (custom firmware), on which you can run emulators:

And remember: don't cut yourself short by doing quick scan of the instructions. Take your time and do it right.
I had no problem changing firmware in my first one but bricked the second one due to lack of attention. There's this funny feeling (I don't know if that's the right word) when you stare at the black screen and wonder why me.

ok now i have sort of a problem. i had another psp before and it broke into little ity bitty pieces (my noe EX boyfriend happened to it, looonnngg story) but i still have the MC, it is a 32mb, and it has nesterJ and snes9xTYL on them, with the games still there, the old PSP WAS 1.5 i suppose, so i went to that link that yall gave me, so technically all i have to do is downgrade?

will that affect what i have downloaded on the MC already? i dont know what i'm doing. do i have to install the HEN first? then the downgrader, correct? then upgrade to 3.03 OE-C? somebody pont me in the right direction, or if anyone lives in GA, lmk so we can meet up!

ok really stupid question, i think my MC was re-named, how do i know which folder it is on the psp? i think they named it game150, it is in the same folder as system and savedata and game and game303 and another one called game.

Yes. And do you really mean "little ity bitty pieces"? I'm not sure if I can imagine that.

It won't affect what's on the Memory Card already, but you might need to clear up some space if it's only a 32 MB.
You've got the process right; HEN, then run the downgrader, then upgrade to 3.03 OE-C.

The MC is not renamed, it just has folders on it.
To downgrade, you need to put the programs where the readme file says; usually "ms:\PSP\GAME\".

If you really don't know what you're doing, you might want to get someone who does know what they're doing to do it for you. There is a real (but small) chance of bricking your PSP if you get it wrong.
