I have 2.60fw psp, I'm wanting to upgrade to sony fw 2.71 to allow me to d/g without the need for GTA etc.
How do I update the thing with sonys update ?

Put the 2.71 EBOOT.PBP in "ms:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE\" and run it from the Game section of the XMB.

Wow, did you get a manual with your PSP? If so, have you read any of it? It's really not that hard to update. Besides, how long have you had your PSP, anyway?
