n00b question, but I still can't find the answer just by searching, so please help!
Is it possible for me to do this :
1. get an OTG (On-The-Go) USB case for my usb harddisk
2. connect the PSP to the OTG usb and use the HDD as a storage device for my PSP? ... 40 gigs of music on a hdd is much better than 2 gigs on a mem. stick
And please don't link me to the iAudio&PSP through usb... just tell me if it's possible to use a normal 2.5" usb hdd in an OTG case with the psp.
thanks in advance!

You have no interface to connect the two devices. You can connect them, but the psp must stay on that screen...it wont pop up a file system to transfer or anything like that....I dunno hard to say what I mean.

Without certain heavy FW updates its not possible at all.

yea man u cant do this

I am not to sure, a while back I heard of a homebrew software that would let you play iso's off your computer through the usb while it was connected. You might want to check it out perhaps. It might then be possible.

I'm not that interested in playing games from the hdd. I just want to use it for playing music.

yeah, but if you can play the games from the pc, because it's a host usb, then you can use usb on-the-go for the same thing. That's my logic, and if I get my hands on a psp for testing I'll try, but can't anyone try>?

yeah, thought of it but:
1. No psp avaible smile.gif
2. No way of getting that datel hdd in here (bulgaria)
3. I think that using the ms slot would be very unresourceful, man! Besides - I saw some sh*t about connecting a psp to an iAudio or some device like that through a OTG device. It was somewhere around this forum... how come no one has tried it?! it's strange

Yes, it's possible. I am not sure if you can play music directly from the otg hdd. But if you get an enclosure which has a lcd menu that allows u to copy files onto the memory stick, it will work. The only 2 enclosure that i know of so far are 1. Smartdisk fotochute and 2. Rapsody S25. U can find a video demonstration here.
