Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has posted a notice at their site for the Game Archives title "R-TYPES" that states the game will freeze when "R'S LIBRARY Ver.1.0" is selected from the game's menu.

More importantly for us PSP owners, however, is that the release goes on to state:
"Also, this phenomenon does not occur when using System Software version 3.10. These symptons will be addressed with a System Update to be released in the second week of February (Feb. 5 ~ Feb. 9)."

So there you have it. My money is on "3.11" for the firmware number, since it doesn't seem as though it will contain any real updates and only intends to fix issues with this particular title.

And I just read there was no good reason to update to the most recent. Hummm...at least its easy to get wireless these days for all of these updates!

Wow big suprise. It's not like Sony hasn't had to release an update for every other retro PSX title they've released. You would expect them to test compatibility BEFORE they make a public release.

Why dont you downgrade instead of upgrading to the latest NON-DOWNGRADABLE firmware?

In this case, soon to come out is a 3.11OE-A custom firmware from DarK_ALex. If Dark_Alex will be hired by sony, we're all in big trouble. He is better than all the programmers from Sony. What you thinks guys?

Maybe they release new fws solely bc of Dark Alex and use things such as emulation problems as an excuse.
