How do you service your broken PSP for free after the warranty has expired? Phone Sony and tell them you are getting a PS3 of course. After bricking his PSP, forum dweller psp-frog called customer support for some assistance. After explaining to the representative that he could not afford to pay for his PSP to be fixed because he needed the money to pay for a PS3, the representative waved their magic Sony wand and psp-frog was granted a gratis fix for his busted system.
A rare bit of good press for Sony; who would have thought they would be so sympathetic to someone who broke their PSP because of a failed attempt at using it for a homebrew application. In fact doesn’t installing any sort of homebrew invalidate the warranty anyway? Is that fish I can smell, or just something that smells fishy?
This is nice... But i'm sure they will start seeing a pattern once this becomes mainstream, ya know?
