The Pope made the statements in a message to mark the church's World Communications Day.

"Any trend to produce programs and products - including animated movies and video games - which in the name of entertainment exalt violence and portray anti-social behaviour or the trivilization of human sexuality is a perversion, all the more repulsive when these programs are directed at children and adolescents," he said.

"I appeal to the leaders of the media industry to educated and encourage producers to safeguard the common good, to uphold the truth, to protect individual human dignity and promote respect for the needs of the family."

Benedict also suggested that children should be encouraged to enjoy classic literature, fine arts and "uplifting music".

Think real hard, and tell me how is that different than telling me that my religion is wrong? What give you the right to think I need to be saved? "OMFG, we need to save those noobs from burning in hell!! They need to learn how to live the proper Catholic way!" That is what you just described, as something the Catholic religion teaches people to do. Like I said, if you still think I need to be saved then your god is vain and pretentious.

I have to say I agree with Vinxz. Most Catholics that I know of are mostly brainwashed and believe in whatever the church says is right and/or the bible. I rarely find any catholics to actually question the higher power or the book, and they are quick to try and "save" everyone else that they really don't understand their religion anymore then the rest of the non-catholic world. If the catholic religion is so right...I want to see them go without recruitment. The religion would slowly die off when people actually start looking into it and researching it for themselves rather then being brainwashed by the church. I know...I know...some of you are thinking "but the bible says this...and that...and this..." Just remember, the bible was written by man. If you really think G-d came upon us and burst into a big flame and told us what to write...then think again. I wouldn't doubt all those men were high on opium...so would you want to follow some druggies? I mean what else did they have better to do back then?

The church got jealous of the Pagonist festive holidays...around December (Yule) and spring time (Ostara) and worried too many people would turn pagan. Well of course the church decided to barge in on the pagon holidays and try to intertwine the religions to take the attention and to recruit. Sure...back then, whats better then having the churches approval?? So everyone switched over because they were worried they would be slaughtered in their sleep if they didn't! So that is why we now have holidays....Christmas, in December, and Easter, in the Spring time. Go ahead look it up...
