Your question is kinda odd. Either you don't know that 3.03OE-B is the newest Dark_Alex custom firmware, or that you do not want to get the latest Dark_Alex firmware and want to stay at 3.03OE-A for some odd reason. In both cases you will have to downgrade your PSP to firmware 1.5. Depending on your PSP's current firmware version you will have to figure out which downgrader to use. Once you are at fw1.5, upgrade to 3.xxOE-A custom firmware. I recommend that you go out and find and read tutorials on how to downgrade and install Dark_Alex's custom firmware. The "xx" can either be 02 or 03 depending on which sony update you downloaded and place in the oeupdatemaker folder that you will use to install the custom firmware.

I strongly recommend that you don't get 3.02OE-A, but instead 3.03OE-A or 3.03OE-B. I don't see any reason why anyone even use 3.02OE-A anymore. Dark_Alex made OE-A' and OE-B for 3.03. From my experience I have seen more people running into trouble in 3.02OE-X than 3.03OE-X. Currently 3.03OE-A/A'/B is compatible with all fw1.5 homebrew apps and can play every ISO out there straight from the XMB. The 3.03OE-B patch just unlocks max resolution video playback on the PSP. The only reason I wouldn't upgrade to 3.03OE-B currently is that on some PSP, it have a bug where Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops can't use sleep mode. So if you are a video freak upgrade to 3.03OE-B. If not stay at 3.03OE-A/A' until that is fixed.

There is actually a few advantages in using 3.03OE-X. 1. Don't need to use devhook. That saves you like 20mb on your memory stick and that you can play games straight from the XMB. 2. You get popstation which allows you to play PS1 games on the PSP. 3. In 3.03OE-B you can play 480x272 videos at max bitrate of 1500. Thats just 500 bitrate from the commercial UMD videos. 4. You get all the nice stuff that 3.03 have that older firmware don't. Like the flashplayer, the wma playback, RSS, better internet browser and other random crap. 5. There is more if you are really into homebrew and stuff but I can't be bother to list them.

In the end 3.03OE-A/B just owns 3.02OE-A or any other firmwares out there. The risk of your PSP bricking is very low, IF and thats a big IF you actually READ the downgrader readme and tutorials and the upgrade tutorials and readmes. Seriously if you don't mess up, there is like zero percent that it will brick your PSP. As for what an ISO is; its just the image file PSP games are saved in. Lastly, yes you can play online as if you have the real game, but just be sure your ISO doesn't have the online part ripped out. A lot of ISO's out there have multiplayer ripped out to save space.

Judging from your post I think you are probably pretty new to this PSP thing. So I just gave a pretty brief overview on Dark_Alex's custom firmwares. You should really go read everything u can from this forum and other PSP forums. I recommend you check out the maxconsole forums.

Ouch... you are right. Currently there isn't a downgrader for 3.03 yet. So you have to wait just a bit longer.

How can you run isos on a regular 3.03? You cannot. You must downgrade first.
