Maybe there should be a little limit for people to post before they can download for example have 20 posts. i no this causes spam aswell but you can ban them for spamming so they just use the site for downloading what they need. Any suggestions?

We tried this only a few weeks or so ago; and it did lead to huge spamming and not many more good replies.
There were people who made useless posts/topics or just replied to everything even if they did not have anything useful to add.

If it wasn't obvious with posts that just said "COOL", it was posts that just had "get DevHook" or "downgrade" or "custom firmware", or just re-iterated what the previous poster had said; "he's right", "i agree".

make the limit w/o telling anyone so that leetches just figure it doesnt work and go away

If we did that we would loose a substantial amount of users, not all leechers only download. Its a well know fact that the download section draws people to PSP-SPOT, once they are here they make the choice; to either download; download and post; donate and help support the community; or post. At the end of the day a small minority of users leech and its not a huge problem.

Oh yeh i didn't think about that, well this forum does draw people in

it was mainly the downloads that made me join. but now i post as well. i also donated so i could download from the vip section, its really good.

Well the downloads bring people here but it would be nice for them to contribute to the forum aswell
