Has anyone heard of AV outs for the psp (displaying movies, pic that are on your psp through AV cables onto your tv) That would be a nice addon for the PSP

I have some experience moding lcd displays if I knew in paticular what the psp outputs into its screen I may be able to help with a device to convert it to composit or outher video compression types though that depends a datasheet 4 a screen that is used in psp's would tell me everything I would need to know if they exsist

I'll be honest, id rather have AV inputs rather than outputs. As i have my psp in my car, mounted in the centre console, being able to hook up my xbox etc to it would be superb.

Ah fect it, do both with a switch in/out.

That would be very friendly indeed biggrin.gif

It has a USB port. All it needs is a USB device with a suitable app for input. I'd expect Sony to _eventually_ release such an thing.

Output is a different story, the only way it can be done (so I believe) is a direct hardware interface to the LCD generator. This involves opening the PSP and voiding your warranty, as well as risking destroying it by doing who knows what mods to it.

I don't see a lot of practical use for it anyway seeing as the display is a relatively low resolution and you'd take an additional image-quality hit during the digital to analog conversion (LCD=Digital, CRT=analog).

it would be nice for making movies.

from what I understand the usb port can onley interact with the memory stick (perhaps I am wrong) if that is the case in order to do that they would have to be constantley wrighting the image data to the stick wile a PC app is constantley reading the stick im not sure it that can be effectiveley done I dont know if the psp and read and wright to the stick at the same time and if it can is probubley could not do it fast enoth and would use up to much memory to play a game and you could not buffer cause there would be a delay now for movies that could work sence you can buffer them both and movies are already image data although it may prove difficult to get them to sink up
