I've bricked my PSP upgrading from 302 OEB to 303 OEA (I think I may have a dodgy 4GB card) and Im thinking of getting a UP modchip to recover it anyone know of any reputable places to use in the UK or world wide
Thanks in advance
Peace

Wow, that sucks.
Its better to buy a new one than recovering it which may cost half the price of a new psp.

If you were on 3.02 OE-B, you might have a chance of using the Recovery Mode to unbrick your PSP without having to buy a modchip.
Hold down the R shoulder button when you power the PSP on from a hard reset (hold the power button to turn it off fully first).
If the Recovery Mode comes up then you should be able to flash an official EBOOT.PBP file (such as the 1.50 firmware) and go from there.

£91?
What do you get for that?
Does it do anything that 3.03 OEa does?

Noooo... i bricked mine and i thought the same thing. But my mum phoned up Sony and told them that is just wasent working properly and they asked for the serial number and all that. Then then said have it ready tomorow with the charger and the psp only (no memory stick) and they came like they said and a guy opend a brand new psp box, took out the charger and psp and gave it to me and i gave him the broken one and the charger and he took that away and that was me fine, brand new psp 2.6 non TA-082

Orrr if you dont want to do that you could go to the shop, buy a brand new psp, take off the serial number sticker on the bottem of the psp, swap it with your bricked psp, take the broken psp with the new serial number back to the shop and complain dose not work and you want your money back. That also works fine.

I read somewhere (maybe psp-hacks) that an easy installer for 3.0x created some bricks but the developers came up with a fix for psps that got bricked, if you used an easy installer, I suggest you go and check if there are any updates before you pay for anything
good luck, hope its just that!

If you upgrade to 3.XX OE etc and the psp bricks would the recovery mood work 100% ?

THanks again
I havent used an easy installer but I think the flash is wiped cuz I had gone through the whole process of updating and I think my 4gb card either put a corrupted daxr file onto the flash
I'll look for the fix though
the Modchip basically gives two flash memorys so you can either load from the PSP flash the Modchip flash inotherwords you could have 3.03 on PSP and 1.5 on the chip
