Early details on Burnout's PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 incarnations have surfaced, but the game's not exactly close to release, so could Electronic Arts and Criterion Games be preparing something to appease the masses before unleashing their juggernaut? A listing on EB Games may be the key; the retailer notes that Burnout Dominator is coming to PlayStation 2 and PSP next March.
Could this be a mistaken listing for what's meant to be a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game? Maybe, but EA and Criterion have already developed a PSP-based engine for the Burnout series, so another release wouldn't be surprising. The similarities between PSP and PS2 hardware mean scaling the assets to either platform wouldn't be much trouble -- look at what Rockstar did with Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City stories.
EA has yet to respond to our requests for comment on the listing, but we expect the information will disappear from the retailer's database in a few hours before we're told "no comment." Stay tuned for more.
