Can you run custom formware with a TA-082. Can it be run if Devhook?? Whats the point of it? SO you can run homebrews and still have the latest firmware with all the features and also be able to run new games and get around sony's update thing [they claim its cuz the newer FW has codecs!!!]

nope i doubt there will ever be a custom firmware for a ta-082 motherboard because a custom firmware uses the 1.5 bootstrap and the 1.5 bootstrap can't load a ta-082. a custom firmware cannot (till this point, hopefully later) loaded by a bootstrap higher than a 1.5 due to the fact that 1.5 vshmain.prx doesn't have as much security checks as any other firmware besides 1.00 but lol 1.00 is useless now

and a custom firmware like se-c is like u said, u can get all the great features and homebrew..... i have se-c and i can use everything that a person with 2.71 can and a person with a 1.50 can meaning i can load all homebrew that i want with the exception of some(i have heard all my homebrew runs great without exceptions but some ppl say they have some problems)

What about in Devhook?? I can run 1.5 in Devhook!! Anyways, where can I get HEND is it more stable?? I put my HENC fodler as readonly after I recopied it and it works more often now!! But what makes HEND better??

Anyways, the tech guy at my school [tghe same one dat h8s me and doesnt let me download] got a 1.5 non TA-082 PSP for 140 bucks at a pawn shop so maybe ill look around!! At eb games they have preowned but they wont let me check em ahea of time, and they say its a gamble.

Funny, when the tech guy got his he used the chat, the same chat he uses to monitor ba behaviour, isnt that a misuse!! I rememebr the first time I seen it, my friends were hacking and they got "the chat!!"

I don't know about 2.71, but with 1.5, you can use X-Flash to spoof a different firmware. For no apparent reason, I changed mine to 1.69.

Yeah, that looks like your only choice, because even if you emulate 1.5, X-Flash still knows that you're using 2.71.

As johny 5 explained, it was not HEN-E and HEN-F but a DevHook on 2.71 package which included HEN-D, which is now on Revision E and Revision F:
"Revision F (HenD,Devhook.51 BETA which supports 3.01 emulation, no 1.5 emulation for homebrew at the moment )"

Yes, it is possible now; since you can downgrade TA-082 to 1.50, you can then upgrade to custom firmware.

If you mean can you emulate 3.03 in 2.71, then the answer is yes.
But if you downgrade to 1.50 you will be able to install 3.03 OE-A2, and play PS1 games using the Sony emulator.

in devhook, setting change 2.xx to 2.00...that will change any iso 2.xx to 2.00...tat means emulated 2.71 will play any iso,thats if im not wrong...anyway,all my iso is able to play this way...my 2.71 emulated to 2.71 den play iso...i emulate 2.71 cz mine gt custom gameboot...itz nicer...hehe

i have no idea how far it goes..u can try games tat requires 3.xx firmware..i tink its only for 2.xx not 3.xx..anyway,is it worth it to downgrade/upgrade to 3.03OE?? fear of flashing is still 100% for me..

you save a lot of space regardin wit HEND and dev... and its much simpler..

there's less files in your memory stick which saves you the frustration of seein so many files and wantin to delete them

yes i m..itz with ic1003 and i've open my psp n i saw with my own eyes the digit "TA-082"..the thing im worried abt is,my flash1 files have corrupt b4,it cant save any backgrnd pic cz the folder "theme" in flash1 is somehow deleted..i use fileassistant to insert the folder "theme" in flash1,flashing it..when it was corrupted,only left with registry file..now itz ok..i assume urs is also ta-082 rite?

I have 3.03 OE-A, should I get B????? I can run Kernel [a/k/a 2.71 homebrew] without HENC and run homebrew that only runs in 1.5 [NOTE TO NOOBS: U NEED TO PUT 1.5 Games in a folder valled GAME150, at first I coulnt run 1.5 games, but when i moved them they all worked!! Now Kernal Homebrews, 1.5 Hombrews and ISOs can all be run in the same spot, b4 I had a list of homebrews and some needed HENC some needed HENC+Devhook then run 1.5, but now all of them just luanch from XMB!!.

I'm not sure about USB, I think I've read that you can use it but I can't remember where at the moment.
And sure you can delete all the files off your memory card.
