I notice that the PSP screen is really shiity, and scrathes and smears really easy!! How can I clean my screen?? I have a case and thats F#$%ed up too!!!

While I was waiting for my PSP in the mail, I went to Wal Mart and bought the Pelican screen protector. I had that on since I took the PSP out of the box, and it still looks brand new. As for the scratches you already have, there are scratch removers out there, I just don't know where to get them. Just Google it. And I highly recomend the screen protector when you take out the scratches.
RealG187
I cant google, it I dont have a credit card, I think I seen something called MP3 Doctors which repairs LCD screens on MP3 player, maybe that'll work...

No, mine is the $5 or so flexible screen protector that sticks to your screen and only the screen.

I would used a screen protector. However, i hate the glare. You get a reduced image quality on the screen. However, i do not travel with my PSP. So that probably plays an important factor into why o dont get one!
jdm_ist
Yeah, i'm always out, wether it's at school or work. And this reduces glare by a very little bit. But either way, it's still better to have scratches on something covering the screen than on the non removable screen itself, even if there is more glare.
RealG187
Thats what I was saying, if i scratch the case its easier to get a new case than a new PSP!!
allsorts111
I suppose, however, for the reasons above i do not intend to own or use a screen protector. Although you are correct realg187 as it will be easier to buy another £3 screen protector than another PSP or screen. Although, its only a scratch at the end of the day!
RealG187
But they add up and soon 'nuff its a crap load of 'em!
jdm_ist
I've had mine for about 5 or 6 months, and I don't have any noticable scratches on it. Still on my first screen protector, and the one I got comes with two.
bigbutters
just take ur psp apart and take the top cover off and then just clean the lcd screen with some rubbing alcohol

NOTE TO USERS: do not attempt that. Although i cannot prove that this will damage your PSP in any way it just seems too risky. However, im quite sure that it may work and users will not suggest something if it does not work or will result in damage to your PSP system. Thanks Bigbutters for contributing.
bigbutters
i started taking my psp apart when i saw psp hacking 101 video 9 when pox takes his psp apart to put on a new face plate. but i only take my psp apart after every 2 months just to clean the LCD screen.
RealG187
I still woldnt do it, duz the screen look way better??
bigbutters
basically the faceplate has some scratches u can't get rid of with rubbing alcohol but cleaning the LCD screen with the rubbing alcohol gets rid of the dust and some smears that u see on the psp. then u just put it back together and ur psp looks a lot better than it was. now don't go taking ur psp apart just bcuz i said it looks a lot better. just do what u want to do. do u use a case for ur psp?
RealG187
Ill clean my case but not take apart...
smodis
whatever you do dont buy screen cleaner in a store for 25$+. you can make a perfectly usalbe one using 1/2 alcohol 1/2 distilled water!!! seriousl!
youngbuck187
just use a screen protector
jjpspjj
i just use a hard clear case but eye have heaps of smudges and little scratches on both case and psp which is really annoying.
RealG187

RealG187

After use for quite a time.. my psp screen protector on bottom and right edge it look like starting peeling off.. Some said is psp slim screen design problem.. sad.gif
TelcoLou
I've had my PSP since launch day, never applied a screen protector of any kind. I just use care, and a large micro-fiber cleaning cloth, and have very few, less-than-hair-thin scratches.

la_faker_81
Well if u tilt my screen on the side, and look at it through light, u can see little scratches, but nothing really noticeable. When i bought my psp it came with a protecter but i kinda fucked up putting it on cuz there were air bubbles that wouldnt go away so i just left it bare.

I cant complain really, i just use that blue psp cloth it came with to wipe off dust.
RealG187
I dont think mine came with a cloth, I'l check. I have slim now too, I have a case...
wildfiredude
One thing about taking your psp apart, if something happens and you need to return it, it could void the warranty. Most places dont notice it, but there are a few that will. I will be getting a screen protector when i finally get my psp back. thanx for the info
BLAZINFAST
only thing u ahve to worry about is getting dirt in between the screens
