explain to me what format wii plays movies in, i didnt think it played movies at all?

kitowskiv, were you able to get progressive jpeg loading working in the Shop Channel Browser?

I made several attempts to play motion jpeg in the browser, but could not get anything to play. Are you just assuming Opera would display motion jpeg or do you know something that I don't know?

ok the formatis mjpeg also known as motion jpeg
sorry liquid ice that would be amazing if i did but im talking about the photo channel.

what you do is convert the video you want using a mjpeg converter or the new wii video 9 to convert the videos the simply put them on an sd card in no specific place . you put the sd card in the wii and go to the photo channel and it shows up .

Why dont u guys try out Wii Video 9, its a free program to convert movies into the said MJPEG format (just google it). The only thing that sucks is that the format creates huge files. I managed to get a 5min 21 sec movie down to 105MB without too much loss in quality. I just hope Nintendo allows us to play regular avi or mpeg in the future cause MJPEG kinda sucks (but at least its better than no video at all)

*okay i just realized the last post already mentioned Wii video 9 (guess i shoulda just read all the replays lol... but i was tired)

does this new image format retain the sound that goes with it? or is it just like the GIF format?

I ead somewhere that videos in photo channel are limited to 15 minutes. It's there to play videos from cameras.
