You may say no now but something is in the pipes. 3.00+ has been dumped and decrypted. So hopefully it souldnt be to long before we see something interesting happen.

That's what people said when 2.80/2.81 was decrypted, and we still don't have a 2.8x downgrader or emulation.
So personally I reckon that 3.01 users will be waiting for a very long time.

some news has surfaced about booster (the guy that made devhook) returning to his work with devhook and he maybe working on a 2.8+/3.00 devhook. just be patient.

I don't know about booster, but Dark Alex is working on 2.81, but it crashes randomly and doesn't load ISO's.

No, because if you send it in to get a new motherboard, they'll most likely give you a TA-082 with 2.81.

Yeah the best idea is to sell your psp right now and get another one... it will take a long ass time to wait for the downgrade or the homebrew to come out.. the 2.81 version is long enoough as it is lol but still thanks to the people developing devhook its all good...

so duz that mean that even w/ a TA-082 you can somewhat downgrade a couple versions, cuz if so is it possible to go from 2.81 to 2.71?? CUz if that article says you can go from 2.7 to 2.5, then would 2.81 to 2.71 be safe???

It's possible to downgrade from 2.71 to 2.50 (but you wouldn't want to), it isn't possible to downgrade from above 2.71 on any PSP, TA-082 or non-TA-082.

I think that 3.00 will be cracked soon simply because they rushed a security update out so quickly, obviously meaning they found a problematic flaw, much like 2.00 and 2.01.

No, it was because they had a couple of bugs with the features. The only one I can remember was that the music visualization didn't work.

You can there's a wide variety of ISO loading applications available to users. However, not many can emulate another firmware. Although, 2.71 SE-B can load both CSO/ISO files and emulate 2.71 and play some 2.8 games such as grand theft auto vice city stories. So in theory you can survive without devhook.

Well, it was not so much as a bad day, but something we were developing, at our head studios for a few months basically crashed big time. In the 6 new systems only one Hardrive survived and the Intel core 2 duo's at 2.0GHZ were all fucked and the same for all of the system's RAM. Its a shame. Looks like the new range of Packard Bell systems are going to be a long way off!

Sounds bad but I go throguh worse, out of my 4 pcs only 3 work and they suck!! One Core Duo in the house is lucky id like have to gank someone north of santa rosa, and even if I did id just get ganked back!

Why would you go to 3.01 in the first place?

In my opinion, if they can get a fully working downgrader for the 2.8x, they can definitely get one working for 3.x because they basically have the same encryption. How do you think Booster cracked 2.81 and 3.01 about a week later?

Sony is getting really smart with the new PSPs but it won't be long before someone figures out how to downgrade again.

They might use the same encryption, but 2.80 and lower use the tiff exploit, and Sony disabled tiff in 2.81 and higher. So the only thing I can think of is maybe another game exploit, but I think Sony might be too smart for that.

i agree sony is getting smart, but there alway seems a way around whatever security measures they use. i look forward to the day sony stop all psp upgrades and i can just use one custom firmware, but by this time the psp will probably be dead, and we will be having the same problems with the PSP2!!!
