Think about it this way. If you could watch videos on your psp in full screen, then the people in the video would be short and fat dontcha think?

It all depends on the video resolution.

Still don't understand why they put the limited resolution on if they were going to let you stretch it to full screen.

the reason sony would put on this limited resolution is so that the video quality will never be as good as their UMD movies and films.
Another way sony scam people

I watch my Clone High Rips in Full Screen, it almost like it was meant for it, and yeah. Triangle and hit screen mode a couple times.

Thanks for this post. It was informative. I was wondering why when I converted a avi file to mp4 the resolution details on the PSP was different from what it was on my PC. I converted the file with a resolution of 368x208. During playback on the PSP it wasn't as great. It had a "ghosting" effect. It is okay, I don't mind it at all it still looks good hehe. I must say though it plays widescreen files just great unlike my ipod =).

PMP ?
PMP and PMP AVC are a homebrew made format for the psp. I think it has something to do with the x264 but i am not sure. It provides more compression and better picture that mp4 and full resolution

Search around, there are "pmp converters" and "pmp players".

hx264 is a great format and so is xvid

Converter for PMP and PMP AVC : XviD4PSP version 4.046 (latest version)
There are more converters ofcourse like Videora PMP Converter v0.91 that are really good.
PMP players are even more.
For example "PMP Mod AVC v1.02 subtitle mod" for various firmwares (for PMP AVC encoded only).
And "PMP Mod v2.01 subtitle mod" for various firmwares again (for PMP encoded).
These ones are the most popular ones around, ofcourse there are too many to list here.

Hope i helped
