I read the old posts but still my question is.... if its not possible to downgrade your japanese PSP to 1.0 again how come some dude upped the firmware with info on how to patch your firmware... I mean wtf... if its already 1.0 why patch it to 1.0 again.... Unless I misunderstood and you could downgrade Japanese PSP's back to 1.0 I'd like some more info please

Well there is a swap method but it hasn't been tested yet and I don't remember it exactly.

Sony has released a compulsory upgrade for v1.0 so theres no point of downgrading

actually there is if your not planning to buy a UMD game in the future and instead play ripped games which have been patched... Since I have to wait till September anyways I'd rather play some Emulators.

Yeah when games are ripped, i'm sure there will be a way to patch the games to work with 1.0, since the games don't require it, only if you run them from the UMD they do.

But I mean everytime we crack it everytime they will jus force us to update?

not necesarily.
if down the road - the UMD games can be ripped/cracked - then they could hopefully also remove the firmware check that will be installed on the game...

but the point is here. the umd will force us to upgrade unless we crack it and chage it so we can run off the mem stick and not upgrade and still play on 1.0. but games take up a lot of space. your gonna need a lot of card for this. unless company hurry up and come out with their 2,3,4,5,10000000, gig cards.

the paradox gamea were only 200Mb or something
all that we need to do is be able to run the games of the mem stick

just keep transferring the file from your memory card to your comp and then swap back and forth depending on the game you want to play...all your saves wiil be moved and a way to keep your memory card empty and have all your games..

well im not sure but from everyone ive talked to they say that psp 1.5 is the best firmware. I dont undersatnd why you would want to downgrade your psp to 1.0 would it be best to downgrade to 1.5 from 1.51, 1.52 or upgrade to 1.5 from 1.0.

Only possible with hardware and not software. Without being able to run unsigned code already on your 1.51 you cant run a program to downgrade.

What's the difference between 1.5 and 1.0 apart from requiring Kxploit!? With 1.0 you don't need to muck about with Kxploits and duplicate directories. Of course, as most homebrew is released for 1.5, I still gotta convert the eboots back to 1.0 first.
I'll stick to my 1.0 thanks.
There really needs to be some obvious thing people have to see before they signup to the forum saying "You can't downgrade and firmwares newer than 1.5 can't run homebrew". People are just too damned lazy to search the forums.
