i wonder if there was even thoughts for sony to do this......it would be kool...it wuld top sidekick 3 so much...not even funny...but a speakerfone feature too...cuz i dont wanna hold this big thing to my ear....wat yaw think about tha fone idea
eckoman
That would be a really bad idea just like the n-gage or w/e
S┼◄ÑKCH
I think it would be stupid plus a phone attachment would cost too much
baby65
ahhh...okay what about a smaller psp then....make it wit heverything except internet....jus a lil smaller....cuz this thing is kinda big when u think about it
kokein
I like this idea.... I want my psp to do overything do my homework on the psp take some picttures and videos...change the channel

i have a sidekick 3...and a chocolate..
ima workin man i have fones.......
Trebor
I say that a phone idea for the PSP is no good cause it would cost to much and it will be too bulky Don't you think?
g4m30v3r
No, i actually dont think it'll be too bulky. If you look at a Sidekick 2 - 3 you could look at its size... or look at a Phone Pilot, they're a nice size.
whiplash
it could be good but it could be bad. it would depend on how the idea was implemented. we dont wont our psp's turing into n-gages now do we.
jaycougar
There was talk of this but I dont think it will happen
redsox33
the only problem is hey need a microfone built into the psp or u use the psp headset
jackram
geez fticken baloody oiffff

now waht i intslled the fricken adapter dont work

hmmmmmmmmmm yes

hmm somethings not reight

somebody goona get smart
cd66
It might work but it could be costly1
ricerocket21x
it'll probably b big n goofy 2 hold a psp as a fone. ur arm would get tired. n dialing or txtin would take 4ever.
smodis
the PSP is too big for a phone!!! cmon now
strandeduser
hahaha yeah who the heck wanna turn the psp into a phone. i have a thin motorola phone and very happy with it. the sidekick ii was a little funny to hold against the ear imagine holding a bulky heavy psp next to your ear.
johnny gaijin
i want my psp to co-function as a microwave.
lordpablo
How about if you used like a headset attatchment and kept your psp like in your pocket like a hands free phone thingy
maps
or loudspeaker....it wld be cool but only voip calls...but again, itz big even compact will be hard..need to hold it...how abt the batt?? the batt sucks wen using wireless...it will be great invention...
WakaMaka

back in 04 at G3 when sony was first showin off the psp they had a protype cell phone attachment which looked alot like the key board, it was see through and attached to the usb, and im geussing that it would fold down into the back of the psp, i tihnk it could be a good idea but id have ot be done right.
charlybob
You bought an N-gage, didn't you >_>
ajayyadav
kool
fortis11
stop with that kool
Naletol
I heard that it has something to do with bluetooth.
bluexco
naw, you guys aren't thinking of the possibilties, they could release A PSP 2 where the screen lifts up and theres a number dialer, and thats how the psp transfers into a phone, that be sick! I could end my phone plan and have one less thing in my pocket. The psp is just getting better and better, its allready cut down on soooo much, like I dont carry around a CD player anymore, and I wont need to carry aound a cammra as soon as I find where to get the cammra attachment, but pushing my psp to a cell phone would be sick, it would almost be like carrying a home intertament center in your pocket.
nyfan879
doesnt someone have a website for this when u type in a message it will call the number and a computer voice says watever u type
Darked
I'd like my psp as a phone
maps
i would tat too...but waiting for that..
XtRa08
That would be kinda weird lol it might be too complicated but my be interesting if they acutally did do that lol
CIK
A PSP FONE WOULD BE NICE. SONY WOULD HAVE TO PUT ALOT OF WORK INTO IT FOR IT TO SELL. I AM WATING FOR THE FONE FROM APPLE(MAKER OF IPOD)
jaredknight
i think it would be a nice addition as long as it didn't cost a lot of money but knowing sony if they came out with a cellphone it would cost a lot of money tongue.gif
DEvok
the psp is already dam heavy, how much more weight do u still want to add on to it.
DarkHunter35
Theres a homebrew that lets your connect with an operator through the internet and lets u call someone and type what u want to say to them and the operator on the phone types back what u respon with
one god of PSP
i say if we all trash talk the idea it will happen. all around the world they trash talk psp. thats a compliment. like a roast! screw a phone attachment!!!!!(lol laugh.gif )
street45flight
they should do a official sony text thing or somethin but not an actual phone..
DEvok
Well the psp is big enough as it is, so i cant imagine adding a phone to it, it would double the size, then thats no convienent.
HK88
Psp is for gaming, let it stay that way. Unless they bring out a smaller version with inbuilt phoning options. But then it would be expensive.
dtvhn21
well it won't be much of a gaming console anymore if it would also become a phone... also battery life would be a major issue...

Sony already denied that possibility.

Although I'm contented with my psp messenger, a phone in it would sound pretty cool.

N-Gage sucks!!! I had it once and threw it after a few weeks!! LMAO
Nadclovek²
I dont think the PSP Phone would be as great as it sounds, it would end up turning it into an overly large iPhone or Blackberry. I as well like to use the eBuddy Mobile on my PSP when needed, but the Phone idea wouldnt work as well.

Possibly using the cam to have a PSP-PSP Cam chat or something, but not stricly a phone =P
alex333
You could always try using JAJAH mobile (google it)......their service lets you use your psp as a phone, but you need an active wifi connection, so its not perfect.
wilecoyote
i'd say it is best not integrate all the devices into one.. it always costs so much with so little life span...
rival316
i think it would be nice, it's just an optional feature.
johnsmith555
yeh that would be cool
J-son
that's a really bad idea
matt_26
it wuld b a nice feature biggrin.gif

Initially, i would agree with the majority of users here, the system is just too bulky and large and it would also mean buying a separate piece of equipment which will make the system Even larger. If you actually hold the console up to your face you would see how uncomfortable and heavy it is if you want to make a call.
However, it would be of benefit to those who carry there psp around with them..no need for a mobile phone and making the PSP a true all rounder.
To conclude, i think that it would be a no loss idea, you'd either buy it or you dont.
jonasvirgil
it would be cool if you could just use the headset like on socom and just talk to somebody like that and it would be even sweeter if the vidoe meeting stuff would be implemented as well
