Hi all,

I was thinking about picking up a 4 gig stick but all I could find was Sony's. I only use Sandisk at the moment and I'm kinda leary about using Sony. Would like to hear some of your opinions on this. I also read somewhere on this site that the 4 gig is not compatible with the 1.5's? Is this true?

I have a 4GB SanDisk Pro Duo (Solid Blue), and it works perfectly with 1.5.
Only 8GB memory sticks are incompatible with 1.5; they only work with 2.81.

But say if devhook can emulate 2.81 you load, it with a smaller or older card say a 64mb card and then after it has loaded, you select a smaller homebrew game and it loads in 2.81 then you swap the card and press home L and change the game with those on the larger stick but the ones on the larger stick have devhook on too. Would that work?

That should work.

But I'm hoping that there will be a way of getting 8GB cards to work with 1.5, if only the first 4GB of them.
That way you could put all your apps (including DevHook) in the first 4GB (accessible with 1.5) and your ISOs on the last 4GB (accessible with emulated 2.81), but that might not be possible.

Yea does make sense. Im going to try it with my 1GB and then inserting my 2GB after devhook has loaded. If my theory works.... its good. And is definitely worth a try. I will post back in a day or so.

It does work, I do that all the time. I have devhook on both of my memory sticks. One has games, and the other has music, and I just change them in the emulated firmware when I need to.

I don't know what'll happen if you swap with a memory stick that doesn't have devhook on it, I put it on both just to be safe. I know that it'll be fine without any memory stick for a while, but I think that it'll need to load something from it eventually.

I imagine it will do the same as a PS2 does when you insert the wrong disk half way through a game. It either crashes or lets you play for a while longer then freezes. It would be the same without having devhook on a mem stick that does not have devhook on it when you press home+l/r it probably wont work, and i imagine that when you open the ISO it will most likely open your game- the UMD game.
jdm_ist
No. I know for a fact that it won't bring up the UMD. If you start it with the one with ISO's on it, then switch to the one without, it'll just not show anything cuz there's nothing to show.

Okay was just simply guessing.

Gee, Kinda reminds me of Swaploit!
jdm_ist
Ok, you kinda lost me there, but yea, as long as the other card has devhook on it, it'll work. And the settings and all that crap can be different too, like the name, clock, network, etc.

have anyone successfully run the 8 gig memory off the 1.50 psp? i just bought an 8 gig from a friend for 100 bucks and it doesnt read any ideas?
jdm_ist
The only way is to emulate 2.81 with Devhook and that's not coming out until the fall games are released, most likely.
