does anyone know when 2.9 or 3.0 will come out and/or what definite features it will have?

How will people know? Anyways i remember all the noobs claiming to 'know someone who worked for Sony' and that '3.0 would be out any day' (last year). Anyways, 2.9 would really rely on hacks, if any more security issues are found then 2.9 will be released.

It has been rumoured that 3.0 will have PS1 emulation, but I haven't seen anything official on it.

Yea, i remember seeing on the PSP eu website a few months ago an 'update calender' and that did have the ps1 emulator. You may have seen it in the latest news section.... there have been a few posts by stylez lately about it- but i don't remember hearing about what firmware version it would be in.
I would release 3.0 wait 6 months and if 3.0 has not been hacked release it as an ad on- not in a firmware update, so users just go to the save data utility or memory stick under game. Or in 3.0 they could make a new section for the PS1 and have nothing there until the release!

wow wonder how many more versions of psp ther will be but hope a downgrade for IS1003 comes out soon =[

as if they'll let us no what'll be in it until it comes out

Actually Sony has released information about upcoming firmware releases and has done in the past, people will not get annoyed and anyways any problems they run it will be fixed in other versions or previous to the release.

If the ps1 emulator comes out I will be pissed if i have to buy all my old games again, for psp
