i was just wondering if you can attach a bigger hard drive to the psp via the usb cables? i know that external hard drives are smaller and can fit into your pocket with great capacity of 5-60 GB is there a way to run movies from them onto your psp or such save data? i now have a 1 GB card but its just not enough.
thanx again guys

I doubt it. I was just thinkin about that today at work, but I figured that for that to work you need the usb program running that let's your PSP get into the hard drive, and you need an actual computer for that.

I have seen various products on the Internet that are just basically external Hardrives adapted and marketed at PSP users. However, upon reading information i think really (as much as i can remember) that they are just so people can take ISO's and videos with them easily and then transfer than via a OS enabled system.
Your best bet is to use google and type a term such as 'psp External HD'

there are some external hard drives for psp that work through the memory stick slot, check out outpost.com under psp accessories

Yea, that's what i was thinking too. There has to be some PSP harddrives that connect to the memory stcik slot just like that 4gb hd that makes the psp feel bigger. But with the new firmware, 2.81 the glitch that anything over 4gb won't display correctly is fixed. I'll only update my to 2.81 and loose the hombrew scene of the 2.8 if I get a memory stick over 4 gb.

Well, with a new devhook you will have the functionality to use 2.81 and effectually having a larger arsenal of GB!

well, what i can think of is that.. to accomplis such a feat we should first have somekind of homebrew which lets the USB be switched on without going through the PSP USB connection thing otherwise it'll be useless.. the other thing is that even if we do this, the PSP USB does NOT have any libraries stored that can actually ACCESS data form an external source so the only wy we can do it is by writing new libs to the flash which means that if at all it comes out, it'll be only for 1.5 PSP's which will be useless as 1.50 cant support large capacity memory cards and defintiely not HDD's..
so that simply means that there is no way of accessing the HDD through USB..

Secondly, there is another way.. we can somehow modify a HDD enclosure from IDE to the PSP memcard slot and then use it as a memory card.. but again that'll work only with 2.81 and above which renders all other firmwares useless for the exploit...

So wat can we extract from all that explanation?
Well, that as of now there is no actual way of maping a HDD to ur PSP unless some really smart homebrew developer mixes the functionalities of both the 1.5(kernel mode) and the 2.81(large memory support) firmwares together which will be usefull for all...

i hope my reply was helpful...
