I wanna buy a 1GB or a 2GB Sony memory stick....But, there are fakes available in the market as well.......now, I read an article somewhere, physically showing the slight differences between the two.....but the best method for differentiating mentioned was checking the total space available on the memory stick....these values would be different in the real and fake versions.....for example, for the 512MB card, the real Sony stick had 480MB, whereas the fake one had 464MB (or some close value).......

so, can you please tell me the capacities of the real/fake, 1GB/2GB Sony memory stick please........

thanx in advance

Well, Sony has constantly been suing and taking to court people who are selling these mem sticks, generally on Ebay. However, for around £50 in the UK in a repeatable retailer you can obtain a 1GB stick. However, if you are going to look at ebay as an option, look at feedback from the past few weeks- as to give you an idea of the person.

Yea, you should only post in one place, and in the relevant area thats why there are so many sections. Other wise your posts could be classed as spam! Next time post it in the related section such as accessories.

Stick away from Sony's black high speed cards and Sandisk's solid blue. Those are the ones that pirates go after the most.

Best Buy has a 2 gig Sandisk Gaming stick for $39.99 after rebate. Most places have 1 gigs for $30.

Thats amazing, in the current rate of $/£ conversion it would only work out as about £20 for a one GB stick in the US, and here you can expect to may upwards of about £50 for a 1GB!

You can get a 1GB for under £25 in the UK from here: http://www.mobymemory.com/PRO-DUO.asp
I got my 4GB SanDisk from there, so I can confirm that they're real.

Oh OK, in that case you'd be right.
We always have to pay more for stuff in the UK, especially when they insist on replacing the "$" sign with the "£" sign in prices.

Well we pay more in the Uk due to the government and especially taxes. Its like legitimate robbery! But, thats the price to pay if you want to live here! sad.gif

How about you stop posting and asking so many questions and actually do things yourself. Its boring seeing you asking the same questions on 5 different topics. If you want a memory stick or a PSP buy one! Go to a real retailer or a reputable dealer. Compare what that mem stick looks like to the originals. Its very hard to tell on some mem sticks if they are real or not!

There's no need to be sorry, its just that your asking so many questions that the answers are so obvious. I guess i got annoyed. Every has questions and you had too many. Good luck, with purchasing a PSP and memory stick.
